situation:
I just got a $300 ticket for failing to stop for a loading school bus. I
remember that morning, I was driving on a four-lane road with a middle
turning lane. I was driving on the right lane of my direction and the school
bus was on the right lane of the opposite direction, so there were three
lanes between us. In addition, the traffic was busy because it was 8 am in
the morning. I did not notice the school bus until I was passing it. I did
notice the stop sign, but not the flashing lights. In addition, the speed
limit of the road is 40 mph, so when I realized, it was too late. After that
, I was wondering: do I need to stop because I was in the opposite direction
? I just moved to GA from KY a few months ago. In KY, it is not required to
stop if you drive on the opposite direction. But anyway, now I know I was
wrong.
I was told that the violation will not become a part of my driving record
and points will not be assessed against my driver’s license. My question is
lot of people said it was a serious violation. This is my first ticket after
driving 5 years. I really do not know what’s the best way to deal with it.
If you have experience this before, could you share me some tips? Thank you

一般常识来说，这个算在你的驾驶记录里（moving violation一般都记录）
300块钱不算多，但是找个律师把这个搞成parking violation之类的更好
钱上省不了，但是不计点， 记录上好些

did stop. I noticed it, but did not know they stopped because of the school
bus. Usually, traffic or someone is going to turn left or right will slow
down the left lane. The right lane I was driving on is for right turn only,
so usually has less cars. | d******r

"This violation is not a criminal offense, and it is not a criminal
conviction if you admit liability for it, or if the court determines that
you are liable for the violation. Such liability will not become a part of
your driving record, and points will not be assessed against your driver's

I tried to search more information from Internet. I think different state
has different penalty. Some states will assess points against the driver's

I just found this information online. I only received a citation in the mail
because the school bus's cameras' captured some photos of my vehicle. It is
called school bus camera program. They install cameras on school bus and
capture the violation vehicle and send the photos to police office. The
police officer find the owner of the vehicle using the tag number and send
the citation. I did not stopped by an officer, so I guess I only need to pay
for the fine.
I carefully read the citation twice. Based on my understanding, I should pay
the fine or appear on the county court on the assigned date and time. | y**0

criminal conviction，不是啥大事，基本上就是交钱了事，去法庭的话估计能便宜点

. This is why everybody said points may assessed to my driver's license. It
said the citation is from a private company, but it is approved by the
police office. The private company will be responsible for installing the
cameras, watch the videos, and send the photos and videos to police office.
The purpose is keeping kids safety. But if I do not pay or argue in the

anywhere.
Failing to stop for a school bus is a seriously violation and it will
definitely increase your insurance premium. Try to find out where this
ticket comes from. Don't pay to anybody just because they give you a bill.

the life of the kids. I really did not notice the other side of the road
because I focused on my driving! When I realized it, it was too late. As I
said, this is my first ticket after
driving for 5 years. I even did not get any speeding ticket. I am a careful
driver. Just let you know that I do have kid and I completely understand how
important the kids are in parents' life. In addition, I did not say I will
not pay for it. I am asking for the advice because this is my first time to
face this kind of issue and I do not know what's the best way to deal with
it. Anyway, I do feel lucky that I did not stop by a police officer because
in that case I may have to go to the court and pay more money. I do feel it
is fair to pay $300 to learn a lesson. Anyway, no matter what, I made the
mistake.I will look more broadly when I am driving from now on.
Thanks for your reminder, dealseaker! I know it is from a private company
and I can pay the penalty to the county's court in person. So I will go
there and ask to make sure it is not a scam before paying it.
By the way, the cameras are installed on the bus, so they can capture the
photos or videos
everywhere. In addition, besides Georgia, some other states also use this
company to install cameras on school bus or near traffic lights so they can
capture any violation and send the citation to the owner of the vehicle.
