bought fram filter 3614, syn oil mobile 1 from walmart. checked the price at
autozone, too high. so walmart is actually good place to buy oil change
materials.
ramp up the car, put jacks under the car for protection. use 13mm rachet
wrench to unscrew the oil plug. loose the engine oil cap under the hood. oil
flew out, blakish color. wait for 15 mins. it's cold outside so did not
wait too long. then put the oil plug back. the oil filter was hard to remove
. i tried a few times and even broke the bottom part so oil flew out.
eventually, i was able to get the oil filter out. remember, counterclock
wise is to loose. lube the new filter, put it back. using hand to tighten it
. then use oil filter wrench to further tighten about 1/4 quarter circle.
now remove the engine oil cap, pour in the new syn oil. put cap back.
tighten the cap. clean up everything. remove the jacks. unramp the car.
should be ok now. will look for sign of oil leak for the next few days. good
if none showed up. otherwise, need to tighten the oil plug further.
this car has no oil leak issue before and i have done this twice before. | k*********s
