2009, so it comes as no surprise that the company built the 500,000th XC60
last month, less than six years after production began. On sale since 2008,
the XC60 has seen its sales volumes increase since its introduction,
breaking the 100,000 mark for the first time in 2012, when 106,203 units
were sold.
The crossover continued to grow last year, when more than 114,000 units were
delivered. The model’s commercial success carried on this year, as Volvo
sold 41,920 XC60s in the first four months of 2014, accounting for an
increase of 24.2 percent compared to the same period in 2013.
“With the XC60 we have shown that we have the ability to compete on equal
terms with our German rivals like BMW and Audi, and it gives us strength to
do the same with future models,” said Alain Visser, Senior Vice President
Marketing, Sales and Customer Service at Volvo Cars. “This is a car that is
not only a success today but will continue to be one in future,” he added.
The 500,000th Volvo XC60 was shipped to the United States, the No. 1 market
for the premium crossover. Since the model’s introduction, 73,000 units
were sold in the U.S., followed by China with 70,000 units, Germany, Sweden
and the UK.

安全应该是XC60胜出，毕竟新设计，地盘还高些
