结果今天收到toll way的账单，是这个牌照欠的费，车的型号也一样。
这种情况怎么办？

发帖数: 13701 | 4 I was trying to help you pinpoint where the problem was, but you did not
answer any of my questions.
I have no idea how dealers do the business on these used plates, BUT what I
would like to point out is that returning the plates to the DMV should be
YOUR responsibility because you were the owner of the car/plates, unless the
dealer promised in writing or whatever that they would do it for you.
Now if you really want to clear yourself up, and get some help on this forum
, please answer my questions, and we will go from there:
1. when did this violation happen?
2. Did you receive a piece of paper that has, I guess, 2 photos, one front
and the other rear, of your car? The front one should show the driver's face
, usually very clearly. The pictures should have very detailed date/time and
location info, etc. Then you can easily tell whether you were the driver or
someone else was.
3. do you have any paperwork to show that you had sold the old car to the
dealer at your 2008 transaction?
FYI, in most states, but not in CA as I was told by people on this forum,
you are required by law to return the two plates, both front and back, to
the MVA, once you no longer own this car.
I am very curious why you did not transfer your old car's plate to the new
car at the dealership in 2008? It should have saved you a lot of hassle and
even saved you a little money (registration fee that is). | m****n

It is a data entry error from the toll ways' end.
It's another car registered in Iowa with the same plate number. I am in
another state.
It's a mess and has been taken care of. | m*****3
