I recently come across a video showing a road rage involving many
motorcycles and a range rover SUV. In the video, it is quite clear that one
of the motorcycle rider tried to force the SUV to stop on a high way. When
the SUV was forced to stop, someone tried to open the SUV door and likely
threat the safety of the SUV riders. Later on, it is reported that some
motorcycle rider cut the SUV's tire at that moment. Then the road rage
started and ended with the SUV driver battered and one unlicensed motorcycle
rider severely injured. Should the motorcycle rider have not forced the
SUV to stop, nothing could have happened as of today.
I am deeply concerned about the highway safety in the states. First of all,
it is reported that some of the motorcycle riders are unlicensed and have
the history of violating DMA driving license rules. Driving without license
is a serious crime, which threats wellness of other law abiding citizens.
Such activities should be clearly prohibited and prosecuted once happened.
Secondly, forcing a car to stop on highway by an unauthorized personnel is
very dangerous in terms of both driving safety as well as personal safety.
And, it is against law. The violator should be prosecuted and punished by
our justice system.
Now, I strongly urge you to take action to prevent this from happening in
the future. Although I am in , which is at far distance from
New York, where the road rage actually happened. However, I seriously feel
that my safety and well-being is threatened by this incident, more
accurately by the gangs of motorcycle riders. If no action is taken to this
matter, this can happen to any law abiding citizen and have devastating
impact to our future generations. Please help.

no action item. Can you just send a letter to plea to 'prevent' it? Well,
in that case, we could just write to them plea the prevention of murder, etc
., which would be even better.
What you could have written is the law enforcement in unregistered motorists
and harsh background checks for motorcycle related events, etc.

welcome to propose. Otherwise, making a complaint is still better than
remaining silence. It is important to let the congressman know that
something is important to someone, so that someone can look for a solution.
I am not someone who can change the world, just trying to do my part to
help. Hope everybody can contribute a little in this case.
In short, if you don't have a good solution, you can still help by raising
your concern. I did not create Facebook place to support Lien family. But,
I can still go there to like it, at least to show my support.

I probably 'liked' their FB page much earlier than you did while that FB
page was just beginning. But that doesn't mean a simple complaint letter is
useful. I'd suggest everyone not only complain to the NYC PD, but also
pointing to some specifics, e.g., background checks, cracking down on
untagged/uninsured motorists, more police patrol.
Specifics mean more.

It is not able who did a lot and who did a little, or who did earlier or who
did later. It is about everybody does a little to improve the situation.

I'm all pro for making the voice. It's just that what might be more
effective. It's ok to complain - sure it's the U.S., but it might be better
- in addition to pure complaint - that we can make more focused requests.
For example, if thousands of people make the complaint - it's very
significant, but the NYPD might do something (including just giving a
statement while actually doing nothing); on the contrary, if thousands of
people suggest more harsh background check for mass motorcycle event
specifically, this may catch their attention and may, or just might,
actually result in something.
Again, I'm all pro for doing something and you did very well. I'm just
pointing out that more focused effort may results in better solutions.
