I owned this Nissan 350Z for a year, it is mainly for autox and will be
built for track use as well. Not a daily car because installed supercharge
and tuned for performance, so the MPG is mess, car is loud and need extra
time to warm up.
I’ve been self-studying engine, suspension tuning, tires and driving skill
for less than 2 years, so still too fresh. I did 90% of maintenance and
modification for my daily car and Z. Not just for saving money, but during
the process, you research, you learn, you hands on, you ran into the
problems and you find a way to fix it, IMO it’s cool. As Youtube Eric the
car guy said – Keep Dirty :D, not many people can understand, but it’s FUN
.
Collected all those stuff during the winter, after moving into a new place
with garage, I DIYed some of them in the 1st sunny weekend in 2013 to
prepare for my 1st track day in mid April.
- Installed Cusco sway bars. Will test it in the next autox.
- Installed KOYO radiator. 20 mins/round racing with high RPM in a
supercharged car gonna blow out the engine… this mod is a must.
- Installed stainless steel brake lines. The heat will expand the rubber
brake lines – on track, brake is more important than anything else!
- Rebuilt Stoptech Caliper. (This actually did weeks ago).
- Installed Stoptech front Big Brake Kit. It designed to compliant with
stock master cylinder, mainly for heat dissipation.
Willing to help with your own car’s problem and even work together to find
out the solution, but you must seriously did the research first. Too many
people asking questions without carefully do the homework. Remember –
GOOGLE is the best tool!

I did research before doing anything. Cusco sway bars has the best review
from 350Z users. they have the same size (actually 1mm more than stock) but
solid. stiffness F/R: 120-137(adjustable) / 173%. I used 120 for from
because I need more oversteering. Supercharged forced me to "U" group, a
bunch of very experienced drivers with tons of mods on their cars...

Forgot to say the endlink. It's hard to say. Whiteline and SPL are the best
brands for Z, but I've seen and heard many complaint on both products. There
are also many people race their 350Z with stock endlinks & Cusco bars for
more than 3 years without any issue. So I decides to use stock ones.

做research当然是一定的了,哪有上来乱改的。不过跑改装组的这个车和车差的太多了
,你要想成绩好点的话和不留着原装的弹簧,去泡stock组的?我印象中sway bar的改
装好像是stock允许的。
这个说的对,Stock不一定会挂的。很多人end link 装的不好,没装Spacer导致角度有
问题,最后效果反倒不好。
你这车这样改,平时还开么?

The most important factors for autox are tires and driver skill. suspension
mods (sway bar, coilovers) are mainly for weight transfer and result in
understeering/oversteering, and if u you know under/oversteering caused by
tire slip-angle then it comes back to the original topic - Tire. other
suspension mods like upper control arms & tie rod are correcting tires
contact patch and bump steering, the purpose is getting more grip, so it is
still tires.
I used all season Cooper RS3 tires, Nitto NT555 summer performance tires and
Bridgestone RE-11 the most extremely high performance tires. No mention I
used the cooper tires for my 1st autox without too much aggresive driving. I
can tell the differece how good the RE-11 are. The R-compound tires will
reduce 2 sec. from experienced driver.
I have an Altima for my daily use, the Z is only for autox and drove on few
weekends. I am still learning everything and will build it for a track car
if I have time.
