An Orlando man was shot and killed as he was driving eastbound on Interstate
4, and deputies believe he may be the victim of road rage.
The eastbound lanes of I-4 near I-75 were closed Saturday night as deputies
investigated the death.
Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies said the victim, Fred William Turner,
47, of Orlando, called 911 around 3 p.m. Saturday and told the dispatcher
that someone was following him as he was heading towards Orlando on I-4.
Turner said the car then pulled up beside him, and someone inside pulled out
what appeared to be a semi-automatic weapon.
The dispatcher then heard multiple gunshots, according to deputies. Turner
died on the scene.
Deputies believe the suspect is driving a newer model gray Taurus with
tinted windows.
Deputies are still investigating what caused the shooting. | l**s
