Kelli-Jo Denise Smith has been named as the victim of a fatal car accident
Sunday morning that allegedly involved a drunk driver.
Smith, 38, was a passenger in a truck that was hit by a Mercedes Benz, after
the car ran a red light at the intersection of Bow Trail and Sarcee Trail.
The Ford pick-up truck ran into a power pole after being hit. The 50-year-
old male driver has serious injuries, but survived the crash.
Both were thrown from the truck. Smith died on scene.
Ramandeep Singh Jaswal, 27, has been charged with refusing to provide a
breath sample, impaired driving causing death and impaired driving causing
bodily harm.
Jaswal was not hurt. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance on
Tuesday.
