今天去test drive了一票车,malibu,sonata, elantra,civic。
发现我还是最喜欢malibu的感觉。
于是谈价钱,谈了半天也就谈出这样的otd,我太弱了。
看到版上有人说,18k的otd就搞定了,我自然没order
敢问大家怎么谈价钱?直接咬住不松口?
我知道feature不一样,地点和我的信用记录都可能影响价钱。
相当不擅长砍价,囧。。。
各位帮帮忙,支支招,谢谢!

乞丐版的1LT税前17k差不多了。马上改版,现在至少MSRP-5k。你去对比一下车窗上的
价钱和迪乐offer你的净车价。
美国车磨不磨合过几年都很多毛病,要不就赶紧卖了,或者买个ext. warr.

1. first find a $1500 private offer using this method:

invoice - 3%*msrp + (100 to 400) - 3000 rebate - 1500 private offer - gmcard
if you have.
3. Then find out the TTL part from the dealer, e.g., documentation fee is
different. Also check your local Saturday newspaper Car session for
additonal incentive (e.g., 2500 mile of gas, 500 incentive ...)
4. PERHAPS you can wait until the end of this month (but you need pre-
negotiate a target price), because good friday is coming and there MIGHT
have 500 bonus cash. Or check if you have auto show cash in your region or
other regional bonus cash.
FYI, my Houston local dealer offers a LS (Sat 3/3 paper):
233XX msrp -- final price 16000 (with 1500 private offer) + TTL (125 doc fee
) + 2500 miles of gas card.
price break down:
233XX - 1500 private offer - 28XX dealer incentive - 3000 rebate
Another dealer offers 500 off final negotiated prices with the newspaper in
hand.

but please make sure:
(1) you are using IE9;
(2) you are clearing history/cookies after you receive "request a quote". I
cleared all regardless.
You do not need to try more than 10-20 times each day though imho, just
spare your luck the other day.

congrats and pai. I guess it will expire by the end of April.
Now, you can check the invoice to get the target price (you do not need to
show the private offer at this moment and that private offer allows you to
use in any Chevy car except volt and another madel I forgot).
now you can also ask for 200 markup above true cost (invoice - 3%msrp -
rebates) and check ttl part le.

The target price for a base 12 LS will be (to start with):
invoice 21870 - 3% msrp 663.3 -3000 rebate - 1000 private offer = 17206.7 +
ttl
If you have GM card, you could knock another 1500 off if you have enough
earning.
You do not want to pay more than 200 over that target price. For Sat. ads
lower than that target price, find out how and tricks and perhaps go for it
with private offer.
For some cars that have a different msrp (check dealer website of window
sticker), you can just add 80% of the msrp difference to minic invoice
difference.

so the approximated invoice would be 21870 + (24700 - 21810)*0.8 =
21870 + 2312 = 24182

your invoice is not right my figure is about 23480 and you can check that with the
dealer or nadaguides/kbb/edmunds.
the 3%msrp part is a little off because the msrp of yours is higher (about $
2000 difference).
For LT I believe there is additional 1000 for natinal dealer cash. As a
result, your taget is about 17750+ttl. Seeing that it is not far from your
OTD price of 21000 (before the private offer), you'd better ask your dealer
for a breakdown for the number (and rebates) and you may agree with that
number minus the private offer. If you have the number breakdown, we can
figure it out what else incentive you could get.

I double checked 1LT w/ all-star, THERE IS A 500 DISCOUNT ON MSRP for that
package, please make sure you select it.
With the most current pricing
base msrp 23470 + freight 760 + package msrp (1445-500) = 25175
base invoice 22296 + freight 760 + package invoice (1272-440) = 23888
As a result, I did not get your msrp of 25500 or 24700 for that
configuration but the idea is the same. If you look at the window stick (
MSRP) through dealer website, you will find exact msrp (and breakdown) and
you can find exact invoice.
Then just use the formula to get your target price (0 markup where dealer
still grossly earns about 500 - 700 apiece).

Let me do it again for the model i want.
The target price: 23888 - 23888 * 3% (716.64) - 3k - 1k = 19171
otd would be 19171 + ttl.
still make it to be close to the price i got last stat (21000,otd).
any other incentives? any graduate credit?
or referral cash back as one of my friends want to get a malibu as well.

check your email. in your case, the target otd is about 19050 including ttl.
without showing the private offer, your taget is 20076, focusing on high doc
fee and hold back.
in my previous thread, you will see there is 1k discount for LT (but not for
LS in the example), so for LT, the rebates will be 5k vs 4k in LS.
Current target is 20076 (not showing private offer), max target is 20300 (not showing private offer). After shoing your private offer, your bid taget should be 19050 and your max target should be 19300.
If you have good reward cards, you should be able to pay 3000-5000 with your credit card and the remaining finance at 1.9% for 3 yrs if you would like to take that route.
You may also ask for some extra, like an addition tank of gas, carpet mat, free oil change but do not expect too much there.

For those who want to get the private offer.
Here is the pseudo codes to do the trick. :-)
(1) use IE9 to open the chevy official website
(2) select a car (i chose camaro, i guess any model would work)
(3) click "build your own"
(4) select a model
(5) click "view your matches"
(6) if nothing pop out, go to (2) else go to (7)
(7) if the pop-up is about "request a quote", clear the cookies and
history and go to (2) to try your luck again; else if the pop-up is
the "private offer", there you go!
I have tried 3 or 4 days and got an offer of 1k today.

I am not quite sure about camaro or not as I DID selected it and I did not
get one when I use other car as the role model. IE9 requires windows 7 I
believe.
tip. tempararily you can selected (7) as: tools/internet option and check
the box next to "delete browsing history on exit" and then click "delete..."
and select all.
that way, you just close IE9 for step 7 when "request a quote" pops up.

to answer your question on the referral, yes there should be 100-200 such
thing. But I would not want to tangle with tax issues and you could ask the
dealer to lower the selling price for your friends and ask your friends pay
cash to you out side of the deal.
Among Chevy models, for general public, my research showed that Malibu 1LT (
minimum ) perhaps LS are the best *value*; for GM employees, Impala has the
best *value* to MSRP. No, I am not talking about performance, reliability,
resale value... or whether MSRP for that car is good or bad. I am only
talking about "target selling price"/MSRP.

Where can I confirm this discount?

Got a private offer yesterday for $1000 expiring 4/2/12
Didn't work on my IE9/win7 at first. I kept trying that for at least 40m.
Then I changed to my regular browser Chrome with latest version.
It worked for the 2nd time I tried. So from my personal experience, Chrome
did work, and I didn't even clean the history/cookie.
Hope this helps for the google folks.

今天去dealer试驾了一下,2012 malibu 1LT + all-star package
感觉外形很不错,因为有18寸chrome的轮毂
内饰用料很一般
操控很一般

我今天已经买了。
一模一样的配置,我只谈到了19300的出门家就满足了。
0 apr根本没戏,连1.99他们都不给我,最后我只拿到了3的apr,60个月。
我不想再折腾了,而且18寸的轮毂我很很喜欢,就sign paperwork了。
我的credit score只有700,历史2年半。
dealer跟我说我的loan是simple interest loan,可以随时pay off,也可以
选择10个月后re-finance如果有bank肯给我更低的rate。我不知道这个是真是假。
去了dealer那里就得处处设防,感觉不太好。。。也懒得持续耗下去了。。。估计dealer也
就是抓住我这样的心态。。。
历时一周,买车结束。赶紧把旧车买了。

congrats and enjoy.
1.99 is for 3 yrs, 60m is about 2.5%, so not bad at all. 700 credit score
is a little bit low and >720 should be fine.
There could have bonus cash for good friday but still it is a very good
price. I would suggest you look at today's local newspaper to see
additional perks like free service/giftcards (this will be very ymmv).
anyway, it is a very good price and the dealer earns about 200-250 markup,
which is kind of standard for GM dealers.

旧的focus也在今天卖掉了,其实是昨天下午卖掉的,今天弄了个notary。。。
一个周,旧车换了新车,还有点不适应。。。

我也是按照上面的方法买了2012 1LT,用了1000元的private offer, 好容易刷出來的(
感谢提供方法的贴主)加上一个$1600保修10年的保险,一共OTD 20.5k, 这里的税7.25%.
那个1600的保险据说可以随时取消,钱也会按照比例退回来.
