Regarding the collection of your personal information; We are required by
law to check the identity of any person purchasing a vehicle regardless of
how they are paying for it. The primary purpose of this is to protect the
person whom is the actual buyer from being a victim of fraud from someone
who may be using their identity under false pretences. The secondary reason
is that we cannot knowingly sell a vehicle to an individual who is a known
terrorist so a consumers information is cross-checked through a system known
as Identity-One which puts our company in total compliance with the Gramm-
Leach-Bliley Act and the Red Flag Laws both of which are designed to protect
the consumer and their private information.
It is unfortunate that our world is a place where we must utilize these
systems but there are those people who will take advantage and unlawfully
use another's information for their own ill-gotten gain. I assure that this
is routine procedure and that we (at your request) will not access your
credit information. We will only use this mandated system to verify your
identity and to do that we must ultimately collect a person's Social
Security Number. |
