Lead Software Enginee
Lead Software Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership in
setting the direction and successful execution of software development by
leading a team of technical resources responsible for developing and
supporting products for Kelley Blue Book’s mobile portfolio
The Product Technology Group creates and maintains all of Kelley Blue Book’
s products. Our products are used by everybody who touches the automotive
industry, possibly including you. Our goal is to delight our customers. We
do this by working closely and collaboratively with product management,
sales and creative and interaction design.
Work in a team environment and innovate on the creation of new mobile
products or enhancing existing products.
Develop innovative and highly usable mobile user interfaces.
Defining architectural direction and standards for all custom
development around a SOA model.
Implementing and managing an agile (SCRUM) methodology playing the role
of Scrum Master and Product Owner as needed.
Establishing strong working relationships with key business and drive
business value through technology.
Provide limited supervision to others through motivation, direction,
review and feedback of assigned tasks.
Supervise work through the planning and scheduling of work, and the
review and approval of tasks.
Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Essential skills, knowledge and abilities:
Minimum 1 year managing a software engineering group.
Minimum 10 years of programming experience.
Experience developing on at least one mobile platform (iPhone or Android
preferred).
Experience in coding in Objective C or Java.
Must have knowledge about fundamentals of scaling web-based applications.
Experience with object-oriented design and development principles.
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or four
to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination
of education and experience.
Demonstrated use of intermediate computer operations (basic programming
in 3rd and 4th generation languages, relational databases, and operating
systems) and intermediate software packages (word processing, spreadsheet,
graphics, etc.).
Strong programming experience in Microsoft technologies including C#, C+
+ and the .Net framework.
Experience with Cocoa Touch, Android SDK or Silverlight.
Strong programming experience with database development including
Microsoft SQL Server.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals,
professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from
groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest,
commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to define problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draw
valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical
instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract
