双方都没受伤，我就松了一口气，然后打911，来个两个警察。后来那老太太撒谎说她左转之前我刚换lane了，我和警察说她说的不是事实，我没有换lane。后来警察分析了一下路上的刹车痕迹，两个人讨论了一下。并和我车上的两个人交流了一下，对老太太说：你穿过马路之前要得确保所有的lane上都没有车！然后和我们说：对方的错，你们不要担心。
车还在拖车公司，刚和对方保险公司打电话，对方说report上说你有可能在事故前换lane了，所以你也contribute to the accident，就说没有义务陪我。。。
我该怎么办？处理我的事务的警察给我我他的名字和电话，是不是该给他打电话？
好担心，好郁闷，因为我的车是passat，修起来出了名的贵。
请大伙帮我出点主意！谢谢啦

我给我自己保险公司打了电话，我的保险是半保（reliable）的，所以会负担我自己的车维修。但是agent非常好，她说帮我和对方公司argue，如果不行的话，她再和处理我事故的警察打电话。我想下一步我就是直接起诉对方黑人大妈就行了吧？
这两天早上醒来，腰有点酸痛，不知道和这个事故有没有关系？如果去医院检查，费用怎么处理呢？

On filing insurance claim, you can either:
I. file a claim with the other driver's insurance company directly. you
don't pay anything
or
II. file a claim with Your Own insurance company if you have full
coverage, then you have to pay deductible first because you are
technically filing a claim against your own insurance. then if it's
determined it's not your fault, your ins company will get all the money
back and refund your deductiable.
on fixing the car, you have 2 options:
A. get cash - if you do NOT want to fix the car or want to fix it cheap
and pocket the differece, get 3 free estimates from 3 different body
shops, fax them to the insurance company and ask for as much as possible
or
B. get the car fixed - send your car to good bodyshop, ask them to bill
the insurance directly. Usually insurance company recommended bodyshop
are good; avoid dealer because most dealers do not do body work, they
tow your car to a body shop nearby and charge you $2000 extra.
Call other party's insurance. demand car rental reimbursement, starting
from the day of the accident until the proprety damage claim is closed.
get a lawyer if you want to claim bodily injury. you can spend dozens of
hours on research, paper work and fighting with insurance company. Or
you can get a lawyer and do nothing other than going to the
doctor/therapy and usually get more money into your pocket.

lane.
if they deny your claim, or don't give you 100% reimbursement, take this
to small claims court, sue the other driver.

rent a car for now. and see if your own agent can get you anywhere. if it
needs to go to court, tow your car to a shop or your home
garage and store it there.

it is likely your car will be totaled.
so you have 3 possible out comes from insurance claim:
1. they accept your claim soon
- then they'll take care of all the charges form the towing company.
then you don't need to worry about this.
2. they deny your claim, and then a month later you win in court, so
they will still need to pay you
- then they'll take care of all the charges, then you still don't need
to worry about this.
3. they deny your claim, and then a month later you loss in court
- I think this is unlikely. but this is the situation you need to worry
about. at that time you'll need to pay the towing company yourself.
if #1 does not happen, you can pay the towing/storage fees, tow your car
back to your home garage and store it there. keep all the receipts
if it turned out to be #2, then you can get your money back by showing
them the receipts.
this way, if unlucky #3 happens, you minimize your lost by taking the
car out sooner than later.
can also try to talk to the towing company, let them know insurance is
not paying and ask for a reducing in fees.
also talk to your insurance agent to see what they suggest/.

an auto accident lawyer.
a good lawyer will take care of everything for you, including the issues
with your car.
you pay nothing to the lawyer, even if you loss the case. they take 1/3
from the injury payment.
