TIMING BELT还是原装的。最近考虑换掉。电池至少有１５万迈了，打火无误。

few times, numerous snow storms, thunder storms...a few big cities during
rush hours...never fails me.

decline.
I add distilled water to compensate the slight coolant level drop once a year.
Funny thing is that one time a mechanic checked the coolant quality using a
gadget. The result was "gorgeous". I just cannot believe the timing belt is
still original. However, I started to see leaking of engine oil (very slow)at the bottom of the enginee. The windshield glass has many chips incouding 2 through and 2 half through (I drive f

I tested quite a few hondas in the past years. Few has the smoothiness as my
civic. I guess it is a pure luck. It was a 1st owner car btw.

发帖数: 818 | 9 It has a 1.6 L engine but it purrs when engine reaches about 3 000 rmp. It
does not do slope very well due to its small engine but it works well on the
flat Midwest. When I drive on interstate, I rarely let other cars pass me
including sport cars.
Of course its body is relatively lighter, suspension softer, thus whobbles
when its is windy. But I consider the floating feeling part of the fun.The
steering wheel is stiff which I like. It cuts the curve beautifully.

发帖数: 818 | 11 I did open the cover from time to time to check the condition of the belt SECTION BY SECTION. Have not seen a slight sign of failure. As a matter of fact, at least one mechanic agreed with my observation. If I do not tell, few people would think the belt has 200k already.
If it fails today, I have put on 120k miles for $5000k investment, still not bad.
I do need to evaluate the belt recently. If I change it, it means I plan to
keep it for a while.

发帖数: 818 | 15 5 within 120 k miles. read carefully. Now I have two new tires ($100 from walmart) two 2nd hand.
Among the 5 replaced tires, 2 were worn to be flat (blowed) during driving, 3 were worn off the pattern totally before disposal (totally bald). Usually I put another 20-30k miles after the mechanic told me to
change it.
Please be noted: do not follow me unless you know what you are doing. Even
myself won't go that extreme with tires anymore. Can you imagine driving a
car on snow with 2 bald tires? It

changed one by one after 40-60k miles.
BTW, we have a long winter here. Driving on snow/ice is basically wear-free. I am pseudo-expert on snow:) I have a few crazy stories about driving but be sure you understand what you are doing. Do not be stupid.

tire above 75 mph when the tire thread patterns are different. It is more
pronounced in rains or on snow at turns. Yes, it is not for everybody and
highly NOT recommended. Actually I will change the last non paired tire this
year before winter. From this winter on all the tires will be at least
pair by pair. It is time to start a family and safety won't be a personal issue anymore.

mechanical "maintenance required" indicator turned red too but I never
bother. I have not done any tune up or anything within the 120K I have put
on: transmission oil, coolant...If I do, I do it when necessarily.
All the mechanics told me the car is in great condition. The wheel mounts
are as tight as a you-now-what. The steel fuel lines underneath of the car
chassis were highly corroded though.

gushing wind of 60 mph. When the wind blows, the shear force compressed
tires on one side thus the car tends to turn that direction. When the wind
stops, the actions change right away. You have to compensate sometimes
before the winds blow. You need experience.
Talking about 飘, nothing comparable than one occasion my civic ran at 70
mph on ice when the side wind blows at 50+ mph: the car shift

all) folks to their cars.
Apparently it is not for everyone: I never heard a replacable timing-belt
has 200k mile on it, nor a guy drove 120 k with 5 used tires---as a matter
of fact, I never expect to repeat my luck if I were buy another used car.
Again, it is a pure luck. I would not believe it had it not my own
experience.
Miracle does happen although very very rare.

you didn't listen. ETC
I don't see any evidence that the car has been taken care of.

change? I changed the air filter often. When the mechanic changed oil, I
went with them to check the conditions of the car myself. When no any slight
sign of problem, why should I do need follow the schedule?
When I opened the timing belt cover with a mechanic at 120K, both agreed the
belt did not have much wearing, why should I change it at 60K?
When I can observe and feel the tire closely and drive carefully, why cannot

You are lying. No trained mechanic would suggest you not to change timing
belt when it has well passed its schedule just by using visual inspection.
First, they want business.
2nd, their shop could get sued if a while later the timing belt snaps and
causes serious accident.

He is a honest person. He did not recommend it first. I told me him it
looked great and I'd like to leave it alone for a while. He said probably OK
. I gave him $20 for the examination.
