I arrived by ship to New York as a teenager, an immigrant, and like millions
of others before me, my first sight was the Statue of Liberty and the amazing
skyline of Manhattan. I have never forgotten that sight or what it stands for.
This is what this project is all about.
When I first began this project, New Yorkers were divided as to whether to
keep the site of the World Trade Center empty or to fill the site completely
and build upon it. I meditated many days on this seemingly i |

For political reason, New York mayor and some important people
like the one they chose.
Many Architects don't like the one being chosen.
The height of that building is totally nonsense.
Moreover, I dislike the scatterness and weird shapes.
I really like the one similar to former Twin Towers.

入选的 Daniel Libeskind 方案也是我个人最喜欢的，
首先它继承了twin tower的挺拔秀气，下城的finance building 密林丛生，高度差不多
，
色彩也偏灰色，晴天从hudson河jersey city 这边看过去，twin tower 如白衣双姝，
婷婷玉立。方塔的长垂直线和河岸的水平线十分协调。Daniel Libeskind的设计基本
上重现了这一景观。
从效果图看，它比twin tower 更秀美一些，vertical world gardens 修长高耸，斜尖有
向天空伸展的感觉。也有人认为是一把利剑，我不觉得。四座office building的分布也
很
协调，与周围的现有建筑自然融合，形成连续一致的天际线。
VWG 和office building 的color scheme 很漂亮，如同散布在下城concrete jungle 中
的
水晶体,是landscape 中的亮点，与其landmark 的身份相配。：）
唯一的缺点是，那个office building 太像抄袭老贝的了，毫无创意。

libeskind到还真是各种memorial性质的竞赛通吃...
就算抛开设计理念,纯粹讲造型的话
从曼哈顿轮廓看, 他这房子也是太细碎纤弱,过多的个人风格,不大气
当然他自己应该一定做得很兴奋
只是这么大一个工程,可惜了

一个建筑为了纪念而建造，是一件很可悲的事情，
让人不能轻松地忘记灾难对于功能性建筑来说并非一件好事。
高度也不够，如果不把那个尖顶算作实际高度的话。
bigL说think group的方案乏味，
偶实在不敢苟同。
第一，从外形上恢复twin towers，从功能上改进，
这才是最好的纪念和利用；
第二，设计方案高度实在，卓然而立，与周遭建筑和谐，夜景迷人，
比起那些Libeskind的水晶颗粒撒在一群土丘上好多了。

我说过，从外形上恢复twin tower 是幼稚狭隘的。再，它们和twin
tower 的功能完全不同，更谈不上改进。
而且think 的那三幢大楼要是摆进全景效果图，估计不会象现在这样讨好。
libeskind 的设计从纯建筑的角度看也许不是最好的，但很合适下城那片
忙碌的金融区。有变化，但是是一种有度的含蓄的风度。没人会记得具体
高度的，曾天天穿过twin tower的我和同事们也不是政客。bbs 上为什么
总是要用政治挂帅批倒一切呢？

think其实有三套方案，
那个看上去象是恢复了老twin tower外形的是第三种方案
你所说的有三幢大楼的是第一种方案， 完全不一样的
不过我最欣赏的是PETER的

but the sky park one dose not have a full view picture
which includes whole 3 towers. If so, this one will be
very ugly a design. much worse than world culture center.
no need to say comparing with Libeskind's.
