+1000 to get Dual D700 (which is FirePro W9000, single card cost $3.3k, so
it's a good deal to get the dual card instead of buying the two professional
cards)
gaming performane wise, Professional card W9000 is similar to consumer card
7970, which is only $500 per card. W9000 is supporsed to be more reliable.
However, that is typical not useful for consumers. hehe.

functionality. Not many software optimizes for that yet. It's an interesting
bet, but we don't know whether this bet is a good one or not. Time will
tell.
if GPU can be used extensively, it's highly efficient to do certain
computation heavy tasks. D700 should have more than 2048 streaming procesors
(cores) per card. There are examples showing that leveraging GPU could gain
10X-100X
speed up depends on the applications. But you are right about one thing,
normal application won't benefit from it since most programmer won't bother
to add CPU computation funcationlity.

发帖数: 13752 | 8 这个不用担心。Photoshop用GPU都已经好几年了，一个GPU提速可达四五倍，
象Mac Pro这样用两个高性能GPU的，提速会更高。
