Nexus One, as flagship, has a software life span of less than 2 years.
iPhone 3GS: available June 2009, likely going to be supported for 5 years.
Already definitely going to be supported for 3+ years.

smartphones.
I have many friends considering moving to smartphone. Feature, screensize
etc aside, every time I point this out to them, "if you buy android phones,
you
are unlikely to get constant software updates", they are shocked and shy
away from android.
Therefore I think it is a valid concern.

跑不了（或者跑着太卡）Win7的电脑现在太多了，
跑XP一样用，能说它们的SW life span只到Win7发布么？

If Android come out with a new version the day after you buy your phone, and
your phone won't be supported. I guess you would still call that a good
thing, since Android had more rapid development.
