My point is "if you want to USE ATV, just buy it, even it is ATV2. There will

I guess most of people want to use for video. More specific XBMC.
However, XBMC is not only available on ATVs. It can be installed on many
iDevices.
Everyone knows nothing is perfect. Nobody expects that. I just want to

from iTune store... you can also jail break and use XBMC for online or local
streaming. If you want to use ATV for any of this, it is considered as "you
want to USE ATV". ipod/ipad is not for TV.

In Apple product lines, ATV belongs to iPod. If you check apple.com , you
will find this out. ATV essentially is a big and cheap iPod with no LCD
display.
Read my lips ...... iPod/iPad can be used to watch TVs on a big TV screen.
iPod and iPad can do everything ATV can do and MORE.

cord connect to it? buy a remote for your ipod/ipad? connect you ipad to TV
when you want to watch on TV and disconnect it while you want to go away? buy
a ipod/ipad dock for TV? be my guest, if you want to do it....ATV is just a $

mean it can't do it. It is up to you to make a choice. Price and money
are not the only reasons on which to make the decisions.

't want to buy a ATV, don't buy it.... ATV is only $100($80), it is not like
a $1000 device, you have to think over. There will be newer, better,
cheaper ATV every year or two.
And please also read original post:he is asking if he should wait for ATV3,
not if he should buy any ATV.
Of course, ATV is not necessary. Many other choices, Roku, WD Live Plus,
Patriot box, Boxee, HTPC, Mac Mini, Sony steaming device, Google TV, many
bluray players, PS3, all can do or do more than what ATV does.
Of cousre, you can use your ipod/ipad for TV. Just like you can use your
ipod/ipad as paper weight. Does it mean you will/can use it as regulator
basis instead of buying a device for TV or a dedicated paper weight?
"I have iPhone, iPad and iPod. I don't feel it is: necessary to buy an ATV."
Does new ATV3/4/5/6 change this feeling? If not, why bother to reply a "me
too"..."me too" means "should I buy ATV2 NOW or wait ATV3 LATER?" in this

Can you tell the difference between these 2 questions?
1. Do I need ATV? (Answer, ATV is not necessary... blah...blah...)
2. Do I buy ATV2 now or wait for ATV3? (Answer, Buy it now or Wait for ATV3)
Can you tell which question original post is asking? Can you tell when you
say "me too" which question you are asking?
He is dilemma is buy ATV2 or ATV3. His dilemma is not if he should buy ATV
at all.

从头到尾看了一遍问题和回复，不知道到底是在争论什么
ATV2是放到电视上看的，itouch，iphone，ipad是拿在手里用，一共就80块钱的东西，
早买早享受，就像大街上吵架，到
最后因为什么吵起来的都不知道了。
ATV2+XBMC做媒体中心很不错，用过才知道好
便宜啊，喜欢苹果就搞个，出来ATV3了在入个不久完了
