Apple (AAPL) may see advantages versus other hardware makers given parts
shortages stemming from Japan’s disaster, write Yenting Chen and Joseph
Tsai of DigiTimes this morning, citing sources “from upstream component
makers.”
The authors write that Apple has “agreed to absorb all the additional costs
in exchange for smooth shipments” of components shipped from Japan. Other
“tablet PC makers,” Chen and Tsai write, may find their “purchasing
pressure will increase if they are unable to absorb the extra costs.”
Apple shares today are down 38 cents at $348.25. | s*********n
