The primary purpose for the iPad, is for my dad to watch Chinese Movie while
he is waiting on the road. Can
we download movie to iPad at home and play it whenever we want to?
if the answer is yes, i am heading to apple store.

e.g. MP4, MOV, M4V etc. For most of the Chinese movies, you need to use
a converter to convert it to the right video format before loading it
on iPad. Another choice is to download files that have been converted
for you from weiphone.com .

I highly doubt that you can buy it in store at this moment. The best
bet is to order at Apple.com and wait for 7 - 10 days to get it
delivered.

If you mean storing movie on iPad, yes, you can do it, but you should first
convert all movies to iPad compatible format using some software on your
PC, before loading them into iTunes on your PC and sync to your iPad.
Another choice is Air Video, which is a nice (paid) app + free PC server
software for streaming videos to iPad from your local PC.
Personally I don't find watching movies on iPad very attractive because

Yes, i mean to store the movies/files in advance, so my dad can watch it
anytime, anywhere he wants. But if it always means download at PC, then
convert, then sync to iPad, that's a little too much work than convenience. |

Is it read books (but need to buy from iBook)? Is it browse the web (then
better have 3G, else useless outside of home)? Or is it just an expensive
toy?
