第一天：Metropolitan Museum of Art, Central Park, Time Square
考虑到参观博物馆很费时间，我们把大都市博物馆放在第一站。出乎意料的是LD的爸爸
妈妈很喜欢里面的艺术品，特别是中国展览区。说在国内都看不到这些东西，都给破四
旧了。中国区很大，艺术品很多，可惜游客不是很多，大概是欣赏不来中国书法和山水
画吧。另外，有意思的是，该馆似乎把韩国文化艺术作为中国艺术的一个分支来对待，
把韩国展览区放在了中国展览区里面。估计棒子看了迟早要抗议的了。
此外，大西洋夸张的艺术，欧洲近现代艺术，和博物馆顶楼的skyline给我留下了深刻
的印象。可惜的是由于时间的关系，我们漏掉了摄影展览区。
LD问我Central Park看什么？我说主要是看看new Yorker是怎么过周末的。New
yorker肯定要说我胡说八道了。说得不对的，请多多包含。骑车的，跑步的，踢球的，
休闲的，卖艺的，杂耍的，什么都有。 |

可乘METRO NORTH 大都會北線火車到紐約市大中央火車站，再步行。
也可可乘地鐵A,1,2,3線到42街站下，再步行。
這個學校大，班多，每週七天，從早到晚，都有班，各種層次。
老師都是前芭蕾舞演員，都有一定的教學經驗,多是白人，男女都有，可查上面本校網站Faculty網頁。教學用語是英語，芭蕾術語都是法語名詞，聽多幾遍，看看教師示範或同學做動作，就知道法語術語指的是什麽動作了。大多數課都有鋼琴師伴奏，不是用錄音。
此校更衣室有LOCKER，但是要自帶號碼鎖，自帶毛巾，自帶健身房挎包。挎包可以帶入教室，放在自己看得到的地方。
好像每堂課是$14。

发帖数: 2 | 33 今天早早赶到AMC去看第一场Gangs of New York.整个影厅里人不多，虽然是白天上班时
间，可是人气比起旁边的厅里的LOTR:TTT差多了。可能因为闲人大多是TTT的FANS吧。
言归正传，Gangs of New York片长近3个小时，比较血腥，写实，爱与恨交加，感觉要得
明年的 Oscar. :) 我很喜欢Leonardo DiCaprio
的成熟扮相。比Titanic里强很多。Daniel Day-Lewis是很好的演员(Oscar winner for
"My Left foot")，Bill "the butcher"是很出彩的角色。Cameron Diaz 一般化。不过我
一直就不喜欢她。片中开头结尾两次大打杀，片头比较精彩。结尾倒象六四。片子对Leon
ardo DiCaprio 领导的“Dead Rabbit"的重新崛起有些单薄。故事主线是一个发生在美国
南北战争时期New York的现代(？)王子复仇记 (或者更象古龙的一本小说的情节， 是不
是离别钩？)。很多情节可以猜到。不过这本来就不是悬念片。感觉导演就是要写实的告

辑“时，我还是大言不惭的把它列入我的list。原因一，俺听得东西实在少，不列它，
就没得列了。其二，本着“凡是thom yorke"的专辑就是好专辑的原则，怎么可以不列。
现在拿出来，觉得我还真是没列错。嗬嗬。这张专辑有人把它叫做kid B,不过我觉得不
像kid A那么晦涩，在我能承受的范围内。Thom Yorke得嗓子不用说，俺的最爱，哈哈
哈。
对于我这个superfacial得人来说，听一张专辑首先被吸引的地方就是好听的旋律。而
在听这张eraser得前一两遍的时候，注意力被这些丁丁冬冬的鼓点牵制了，所以并没有
觉得怎样。而静下来仔细品味，就能感觉到thom yorke一贯的凄美的旋律和唱腔贯穿了
始终。这大概就是我喜欢这张the eraser而始终无法喜欢kid A的原因吧。
专辑首支曲子“The eraser"是唯一一首在第一遍就让我喜欢上了的歌。大概因为是因
为这首歌电子鼓点背景不是很重，还有那些空灵的背景人声，突现了好听的旋律。可怜
的吉他好像主要只出现在“the clock"中，急促有力 |

上次New York 校友聚会, 光门票就的25$, 而且还人数有限, 带个家属就得50$, 还不知
道人家原不愿意让你带. 25$, 这并不是一个小数目, 并不是所有的在 New York 的人都
象那些在Wall street 的大牛, 年薪加奖金几十万甚至上百万. 还有很多穷学生和
postdoc.
当然这25$ 还包含一个seminar, 但这个seminar 好象都是关于Finance 和管理的. 并不
是所有在纽约的人都是做这方面的. 觉得聚会和seminar 应该分开. 校友聚会就是have
fun, 熟络一些老朋友, 结识一些新朋友, 建立一些network, 这对那些在找工作的学生和
postdoc 尤其重要, 但这不算便宜的门票也许就让一些人放弃了. 觉得校友聚会不必在吃
