前几年有一阵子三大系统都拼启动速度，于是各种init替代品就出来了。Mac OS X弄了
个launchd, ubuntu就搞了个adhoc的upstart，红帽就弄了这货
平心而论，systemd是比init有很大进步。至少用declarative conf file代替了一团乱
麻的bash script，组件依赖关系也很明晰，是提高了linux的可维护性的。但缺点更明
显：
1. 过于自大，想要replace everything
2. 利用redhat裙带关系hard sell, 强行合并或取代udev/crond/syslog这些基础包。
这样很多程序（比如gnome，甚至xserver）不得不依赖systemd，很多发行版也不得不
转向systemd，这个太下三滥了。

发帖数: 1148 | 6 偶使用EXCEED登录到一台XWindow机器上工作. 原来工作得好好的.
后来由于lab里IP短缺, 偶只好通过另一台Windows2000的Internet
Connection Sharing Service访问Internet. 现在偶可以正常使用
所有的基于TCP/IP的软件, 比如WWW, ftp, telent等. 但再也连不到
那台XWindow的server上了. 偶可以ping那台机器, 也可以通过telnet
ftp, web brouser等正常访问那台机器. 唯一的问题就是无法通过
exceed连到那台机器的xserver上面.
不知哪位大侠碰到过类似问题, 请指点一二. |

发帖数: 27 | 8 前面没有说清楚,我也没有搞清楚.我是在远端telnet上UNIX,从远端
安装cxterm.客户端是winnt4+Xwinpro.刚开始不知道启动远端的CXterm
时用的字体到底是在服务器端还是客户端的,现在终于搞清楚是用的
客户端的Xserver,并且也配制好了终于可以了!
其实我的最终目的是要在openwin里使用cxterm,但是赫然发现系里
的openwin竟然没有make,\这下一时没招了,只好登陆上学校的UNIX
MAKE,现在还没有想出如何解决这个问题,难不成还非得从系里登陆
到学校用? 在系里的OPENWIN上只家桓鲎痔 |

xterms hang during exit and have to kill -9.
Another problem is "copy and paste" between cygwin and native windows
apps, xwinclip is far from stable yet ...
If u are mainly interested in Xserver, VNC is better if u have a
decent connection since it is stateless. Just my 2 c. |

1 second to run almost any program. "vi", "emacs" all takes

following message when I type "startx" and then close the pop out "xfree86"

我们组（<10人）想买用于科学计算的计算机（2000 USD到5000 USD），不过我们对于
行情不是很了解，想听听大家的看法。
我们用于参考的计算机是Dell PowerEdge T300：5000 USD, 双核 Xeon 3GHz CPU, 24G
内存,4T SATA 7200rpm RAID6硬盘，windows 2003 server，3年服务。我们一年半以
前自己装的机器：1500 USD, 两个四核 Xeon 3GHz CPU,32G 内存,3T SCSI 10000rpm
RAID5硬盘，ubuntu linux。我觉得有点奇怪：Dell的东西不是据说性价比很高吗，怎
么卖这么贵呢，好像比Apple的Xserver卖得还贵？
我们一年半以前自己装的机器有如下问题，是否可以解决得了？ |
