恩)与派拉蒙家庭娱乐公司一同进行的演示中，雷神为美国陆军研制的第二代外骨骼机
械装最终被揭开神秘面纱。这种外骨骼被认为是最接近钢铁侠盔甲的现实版装备。
雷神发布的第二代外骨骼机械装被称之为“XOS 2”(XOS为外骨骼的英文缩写)，比
第一代更轻更快更强，同时将耗电量降低50%。其采用的加强型设计意味着佩戴者能够
在更大程度上应对周围环境。
一直以来，雷神便在研发这种机械装以帮助军方应对战场内外的大量后勤挑战。重
复举起重物可导致士兵身体出现损伤，尤其是矫形外科损伤。XOS 2的一大功用就是代
替佩戴者举起重物，进而降低过度疲劳和虚脱风险。此外，XOS 2也可帮助佩戴者更快
速地完成工作。这种外骨骼的佩戴者能够承受两到三名士兵的工作量。也就是说，使用
外骨骼允许对军方人员进行重新调配，执行更具战略意义的任务。
