Is that a WinModem? My RedHat7.1 cannot recognize
this modem,at least the KPPP cannot find it.
Dell offers some Linux driver for 3COM V90 modem,
can those drivers also work for me? And how to
put the driver, some threads said we need to recompile
the kernel?

I tried its 4.5 version before and the hardware support is not engouh.
Recently I installed the 5.0 Pro version on my Acer 602TER
notebook, amazingly, all the hardware are support: audio, modem,
NIC, video(downloaded a driver from bebits.com). In my opinion,
it's better than Linux as a desktop OS. It's small,neat and fast,
with lots of CUI utilities and porting Unix programs to BeOS
is easy. The notebook uses the Lucent WinModem, it doesn't
