死翘翘了，看看这个windows的目录已经快450mb了，于是乎想都没想在dos下面就
deltree/y windows了，因为自己觉得win98第二版的稳定性不咋的，又翻箱倒柜
找出来win95 osr2装了半天，等到什么东西都搞好了以后，才发现自己写的那点
东西都跟着win98的active desktop烟消云散了，真实的faint了一次，好几天
的工作还有同学的mail……懒懒的呆了几天，不想动也不想去上网，后来慢慢过
去了，又开始敲了
重走“智泉路”
邵科馆前面那条马路，一直可以通道后校门的，是叫“智泉路”吗？自己记不
清楚了，:)
走到了教三、教五之间的路口，往八舍去该在这儿转弯了。拐弯处长着几株挺
拔茂密的行道树（可惜不知道它们的名称），在大一的暑假中，我们在这几株大树
浓密枝叶的照顾下，比较轻松的度过了军训中的两周。军训时整个９５级的１６个
连中，就我们六连（号称“硬骨头六连”的，都是自封的，还曾经为另外一个连打

还行，玩98就有点力不从心了，特别是98那该死的按WEB页方式显示
。小弟经过一段时间的摸索，找到了一些加快瘟98运行的方法，不足
之处请大家指教。
1.定制你的Win98
Win98为用户提供了不少工具程序和其它组件，几乎没有多少是
用户能用得上的，装的多了反而成为累赘。安装瘟98时候您可以根据
情况选择几样自己要用的东西就够了。如果您并没打算从新安装瘟98，
只要打开“控制面板”文件夹中的“安装/删除程序”项目，删除您
不用的Win98程序及组件。
2.C:下，除了“Io.Sys、Msdos.Sys及Command.com”外，您可以
将其它文件都删除（包括Autoexec.Bat和Config.Sys）。
要想显示其它文件，必须在“资源管理器>查看>文件夹选项>查
看”，选中“显示所有文件”复选框并确定。
3.WINDOWS目录里所有的以Bmp，Gif，log，tmp，bak，old，chk，
~，ago，txt等为后缀的文件都是无用文件，大可删除。
此目录里还有一些小程序可以删除，如Welcome.exe等一些无用 |

I first boot with win98 floppy, and fdisk delete all
partitions, and create a new primary partition for 1.2G.
Leave the rest of the hard drive untouched. Then reboot and
format the C: (1.2G). Installed win98 with no problem.
Then I boot to win98 floppy again, fdisk and partitioned two
new partitions. Then I boot to linux floppy and install
linux from CDrom, partitioned 2.3G under linux fdisk, and
installed redhat6.0 with no problem.

if only 98 and win2k, solution is quite standard, no need to do
any special treatment, like set active partition when booting,
two primary, hidden partition, etc..
just partition it as you usually do for any win98 installation, install
win98, then win2k over it. win2k can be in any logical volume, but its
loader will be in C: anyway. NT loader will take over win98's boot sector.

统分区的根目录（如果你的电脑只装了XP，那么C盘就是你的系统启动分区；如果安装的
是Win98／Me和XP双启且先安装Win98／Me，那么，装有Win98／Me的那个分区是你的启动
分区）并打开，然后选择菜单栏中“工具”菜单下的“文件夹选项”，打开“查看”选项
卡，将“隐藏受保护的操作系统文件”前的对勾去掉（此时会弹出一个警告的对话框，不
必理它，选择“是”按钮继续），再选择“隐藏文件和文件夹”中的“显示所有文件和文
件夹”，然后依次点击“应用”，“确认”按钮，再看看你的系统分区根目录，是不是多
出几个隐藏文件来，就是它们，找到ntldr、ntdetect．com和boot．ini这三个文件（大
概有200多k）将它们发送到你的软盘，一张XP的启动盘就做好了！最后，别忘了把制作好
的XP启动盘写保护，以防不测！
当然，你也可以从XP的安装CD的I386目录下找到ntldr和ntdetect．com这两个文件，将它
们拷贝到你的软盘，至于boot．ini文件，它在XP的安装CD上可找不到，需按照上面介绍

觉得过去的版本不好用了。
win3.1 win95 win98 win2000 winxp win7
怎么第六个是win7呢？难道是vista也算一个版本？win me算不算一个版本？
现在如果倒回去用win98肯定感觉不适应了吧
至于office系列呢，excel2007是比2003运算速度提高很多了。
word嘛，新界面其实还真是有挺多好的地方，比如调整字体的时候，画表格的时候，那
个有点类似预览的东西。公式编辑器是好了很多。而且标签形式的界面的确比过去工具
栏要好。因为这样是等于用标签切换工具栏，然后每一个标签下可以有很多工具按钮。
当然了，如果要是用到的功能少，这个优点就体现的不明显了。office在办公方面的优
势就是提供了这么多功能，让你能想到什么都能实现什么。
不过word的确在论文排版方面不如latex。当然，latex的用户交互界面更加，更是要去
学latex。
不过我觉得易用性总是发展趋势。触屏总是发展趋势。将来未必不能出现特别好用的触

everything is ok before I install the ATA100 driver. I mean
that vedio and sound and everything is ok. After I install
the ATA100 driver, the computer refuse to work. I can't use
the WIN98. WIN98 doesn't start. Only safe mode can start.
I find that my cable connecting with the motherboard and HDD
is a common one. According to my motherboard manual, it
should be 3 color plug on that cable. one blue one gray and

1:先将时间与4.26错开,以防重新中招,
2:重新启动,最好用win98的软盘启动盘启动,选support CD-rom
3:找一张有Norton 8.0的光盘,用ndd进行恢复.
4:系统很快查出硬盘分区有误,按提示逐步进行恢复.
5:恢复后,重新启动,闪闪发亮的win98画面又回来了.建议立即
从软盘启动,用KV300对机子狠狠杀一遍.
6:对CIH破坏主板者,无能为力. |

options of drivers like, TEXT DRIVER (.txt; .csv). Does this mean if I
use Perl's DBI or Java's JDBC to connect to my ODBC and I will be able
to use SQL on my TEXT files on my Win98? I know ODBC is a commom gate,
does this mean this will hide EVERY DIFFERENCE before different
drivers: such as Access, Exel and TEXT will be the same for SQL? |

I used one extra ethernet card on one Win2k, and it connects to
another Win98 2ed using a hub. Use Win2k dial to DSL, the another
computer will get connected automatically if you set up the software

So my guess is that the way you access physical memory does
not work in win98/vb.

现在手机上很多东西就是把以前pc做过的再做一遍
android就是mobile上的win98，win98当年就是捆绑jvm往外扔
ios搞swift，chrome搞啥dart，都不是什么新鲜玩意
那个thrift，跟20年前的corba有啥本质区别？
再重复做这些东西，就是纯粹骗钱了
相比之下，ml这块虽然说短期内突破有困难
但是好歹还是有得搞的，各种轮子和理论还都是空白
还是处女地或者新大陆，理论上还可以扯扯蛋 |

rising99 antivirus software, but c driver could not be
recovered. I just rescued all data in D driver.
But now I met a problem. After I formated c driver and
installed win98, a wrong message showed that something wrong
with the partition, win98 could not be setup.
I recalled that rising detected autonously FAT16, but it
should be FAT32 in my computer.
What can I do now?

只能看到其共享的名称，访问不了内容。

letter when you install it and it will not change unless
you changed it manually in disk manager.
there are several reason for the disappear of ur partition.
maybe it really damaged.
how do u copy ur fild to that partition? under win98.
if it is, try to install win98 and to see whether you can
access that partition.

DOSLINUX or ISOLINUX (dont need to partition ur HD,

for vista->win7, you should expect sth like win95->win98.
关键在于，虽然各位普通用户对vista抱怨很多，但是基于vista核心的Windows 2008
server基本没有任何批评，所以对vista的architecture本身是没有什么怀疑，关键是
如何让普通用户去接受。
而普通用户抱怨的两点：对机器的要求，兼容性，在两年前虽然怨声载道，但是其实现
在已经没那么糟了（因为老软件的用户逐渐少了，大家机器也都升级了）。
这个想想也差不多，从win95-win98是一个体系，然后win2000->xp是一个体系，然后是
vista->win7，win7应该是会持续很长时间的。 |

especially comparing to win98.
Leave the control center to normal user, so they can configure their desktop,
such as changing the background.
However, they can't make any system-wide change, don't worry about that,
all system files are only writable by root.
Linux is for multiple users, win98 is for home use. |

1. edit lilo.conf and then lilo
2. boot to win98 and type "fdisk /mbr"
3. run bootpart to generate the Menu entry for linux

the first 4G limit. ( the limit is imposed by bios, so no multiboot manager
can overcome it. )
my suggest is first partion ( 1G , fat16 ) win98, also put os loader here

同一子网下win98机器试图share这个folder时候, 被问及/IPC$的
密码, 却不问d:\temp也不象NT问connect as...怎么办? 因为我不
知道IPC$的password(试过administrator的, 不管用).
不过win98机器的share folder用win2k连过去没问题. |

拷完文件后updating时就no responding了，
cancel出来准备删掉单装VB，
Remove里没有发现，于是
先删硬盘上的文件目录，再进注册表查找，删了一气，
再运行setup，它就认出机子里有安装过的组件，要查找，
一查找就no responding.

Extention 9G
3G D: Soft (FAT32) （所有的window软件的安装分区，这样w98
和w2k就可以共享installed software,不会重复浪费）
2.5G E:Temp (FAT32) (临时交换区，这个很重要，电影，备份等）
2.5G / (LinuxExt2) 用于linux redhat的程序，放在这里是为了
避免linux放在大于1 |

从win98 升级安装会带过去很多垃圾， 可能占用不小的硬盘空间， 也可能造成机子启

一般软件都会秘密在系统注册表或系统里写一些信息的。
第一个问题直接原因显然是因为你的win98想往光盘上写东西。出现这种情况有可能
你的win98有病毒。因为xp下没事，可见这种写操作不是原意图。 |

是你的xp 光盘坏了吧， 安装完后从别人那儿考一个 dmboot.sys 试试。 要不把xp
光盘上的文件考到硬盘上， 从别人的xp 盘考一个 DMBOOT.SY_ 覆盖掉原来的， 用win98
启动启动，先运行smartdrv.exe(这个可以在win98 光盘或系统里面找到） 运行 /i386/
winnt.exe 安装
不必试了， 安装的时候选择把c： 盘格了就是了。 选用 fat32 格式吧， 没必要用 ntfs |

Basically, if your machine is not dual boot to Linux/Win98, FAT32 doesn't have
any advantage.
NTFS can give you:
* Better security, like encryption
* Smaller cluster size, i.e., lots of small files will take less space in NTFS
* Better performace
* Other features like compression, quota, audit, virtual path, ...
One possible con is if your system crashed, the disk will not be read by win98
machines. That's not a big deal cz you can now easily find a 2000/XP machine.

发帖数: 3882 | 44 win2k 出的时候我用 PII 450, 256MB，从 win98 换到 win2k 感觉真是飞跃， 稳定性
好得
多了，中文支持也很方便。大多数软件都能用， 不过我的破laser printer 过了好久
才有了 win2k 下的驱动。 一年后 win XP 出来了，除了界面变化，加了激活外， 没
啥变化，
程序兼容几乎跟 win2k 一样。 感觉用 PII 450, 256MB 跑起来 xp 来太吃力。 后来
我升级到现在的 双 althlon 1700＋， 还是一直用 win 2k， 到win2003 server 出来
改用 win2003 server。 winxp sp2 出来后,另外加上学校给了winxp 的license，我用
xp 的次数才多起来， 不过现在还是主要用 2003 server.
因为搞到了免费的 vista business 跟 ultimate 的license， 才试着用了一下，感觉
在软件兼容性方面比从win98 跳到 win2k 的时候变化还大。另外我的机子速度也跟不
上了。 真正用 vista 干活估计还得等一段时间吧。 不过我对vist |
