我所知道的博士博士后的三大聚居区，就是上面说过的prospect street, livingstone
street and orange street：
prospect street上都是yale的房产，得向yale申请。其中whitehall和esplanade两个
居住区是博士生住的，prospect garden是博士后住的。那里人多，所以孩子多，老人
多，playground多，children's playgroups也多。附近science park里有个叫什么三
棵树的地方，每天早上大概九点到十一点，是老人带小孩聚会聊天玩耍的地方。
whitehall还有幼儿园（open to public, not residents alone），越早排队越好，常
要等两年才有名额。
livingstone street上有一个住宅楼（不知道具体哪号），我没去过，听说房子较老。
价格便宜。中国人多。附近有east rock playground，还有episcopal church每周三有
children's music playgroup |

我头一天想去piccadilly，一直沿着从trafalgar square走到whitehall st然后途径并
游览大本钟，西敏寺，国会，st james park,最后去kensington palace（因为听说白
金汉宫不开放）,london eye
第二天，去游船，harrods,topshop, bond street, british museum
第三天，st paul's cathedral, harvey nichols, shop @ bluebird, rococo
我已经买了london pass,可是没加上travel option。
另外，我住在crowne plaza london the city (最近的tube station在temple，因为
blackfriars已经关闭了）。所以想问一下我如果要从这家酒店去以上地方需时多久。

where exactly do you live in new haven? you'll find huge groups of children,
esp chinese children, on prospect street (around whitehall), livingstone
street and orange street, whose parents and grandparents should be able to
offer help. some grandparents get paid to take care of children from other
families, guess you know that already.

学校提供的房子容易申请到么？考虑到家长要过来，住在国人多的地方比较合适，有人
可以交流。决定申请prospect garden 和 ivy manor试试。旁边还有一个whitehall
apartment应该也不错吧

七月初我们也要搬来耶鲁和大家做朋友了，祝大家端午节快乐
搬家好烦人啊，找房子最麻烦，把帖子看了几页，其中有位朋友先问了关于哪里租房好
的问题，我也就根据那个帖子去找了，我们觉得租学校的房子比较安全也省心，所以按
上面说的写信问了，人家说都满了，只有105-115 Sachem Street还有个房间，想问问
大家这里治安如何？
我们有两小孩，本来很想住whitehall 或ivy manor和prospect garden、Mansfield St
但最早也要到八月一号，
所以如果有更好的请推荐啊，至少要2br，谢谢 |

是特别好的地段上，但学校宿舍区比较大，一般没什么问题，只是晚上不要太晚一个人
在外面就行。
你什么时候过来呢？我正要sublease七月份的房子，你愿意的话可以七月份住在我的房
子里，八月份搬去你想去的房子。就是有点折腾。

nursery school也口碑很好；neighborhood music school nursery school也很好；还
有yale的两家都很好。这些都有waiting list，要早排队。hamden不熟，好几个朋友去
whitney ave好像几百号还是一千号的一家，我不知道名字。yale网页上有个附近所有
幼儿园的list，你可以下载来看，包括收费。new haven比较便宜的是whitehall那边的
一个public幼儿园，和college st上的united church nursery school，都有sliding
scale，收入低的收费也低。但口碑一般，众说纷纭，有人说不好，有人说还行。前面
那几家好的都不便宜。 |

学校的宿舍好一些，whitehall和另外一个叫什么garden的，忘了，价格便宜，交通方
便，学生集中。orange street上有好几个公寓楼，不过条件都不大好。市中心green旁
边有高尚公寓楼，很贵。还有就是私人租房，craigslist上有很多。 |

whitehall连在一起，有好几个playgrounds，后面就是foote school的playground，也
可以玩。prospect garden在马路对面，可能playground没有这一片多。 |

上有几个公寓楼也住了不少人。east rock更安全些，不过住户分散一点，校车不一定
有站。

clinic的那个playground里也有。其他爬山还看到过一些。噢对了lighthouse point
park里也有，周末常看到拉美人一群群地在那里烧烤。还有orange st上、wilbur
cross high school对面的playground里也有。我知道的都是playground... |

发帖数: 141625 | 45 学校有的房子是租给博后的。prospect st上的prospect garden好像是博后住的，离博
士生的whitehall近，中国人多，小孩和老人多，离主校区走路大概20分钟，还有校车
站。也可以租私人房子，置顶有个new haven安全范围地图帖。
new haven餐馆酒吧挺多的，博物馆艺术馆剧院也多。夏天市中心草坪上经常有各种演
出。开车去纽约近两小时吧。市内有公交，没坐过，一般坐校车多。开车十分钟到海边
，同喜欢海，lighthouse point park可以钓鱼，游泳，野餐，玩旋转木马，小孩游乐
场，夏天有splash pool，常去玩。欢迎。 |
