i watched it from last 9 hole.
somehow Nick reminds me Padrig Harrington.
His driver ball flight was very low, and almost always stay in fairway. |
|
v*****r 发帖数: 2325 | 15 low ball flight for driver, 3wood, long iron is good stuff. recently hit
quite some low trajectory shot using 5i,4i,3i,3wood, driver. i found that
most of them do not deviate much from my intended direction. also low ball
flight leads to longer distance. |

v*****r 发帖数: 2325 | 16 watched final round at pgatour.com website.
phil oozes so much confidence. said about his feel good about his game, and
enjoyed playing next 3 rounds after 1st round. and played to his words.
final round right after his tee shot from 18 hole, somebody yelled "get into
water!" guess some haters there. he was not distracted at all.
then overruled his caddy's shot option, hit second shot right at pin, 17x
yard almost landed into hole. answered watney's putt #1 with a similiar
close to pin putt to c |

relative underdogs compared to Tiger, phil, harrington.
could not go too low profile to have any chance :)
these guys showed that they could
1)sustain pressure
2)close to win in the last several tours...
i wish garcia win me a free R9, but he putts like me at key moments... |

he was not on the leader board after bogeyed the first hole. TV broadcasting
can only focus on a few players unless you are tiger or phil. nick watney
is gone from TV after tripled, and I did not see Bubba the whole day until
he made himself back to the leader board. |

Rule is rule. they know this is going to happen, they made this rule crystal
clear before the tournament. actually, this same thing happened before on
this course during 2004 PGA Championship.
Nick Faldo made a comment afterward, he said he would never ground his club
whenever he's on sands, pebble, or any hazard area on a course, it's just a
precaution. I guess this is the difference between experienced player and a
un-experienced player. |
|
q******3 发帖数: 622 | 28 既然是bunker,那打球的时候,把看的人也得从bunker赶出去吧。那有观众站bunker打
bunker的。这trick就是修理年轻人嘛。

n***n 发帖数: 247 | 29 well, the problem was nobody else except rule official think it is a bunker.
Dustin, galleries, TV viewers do not think it's a bunker. that's why the
official got a big boo- after the announcement.
however, it is listed as local rule #1 according to the rule committee. they
tried their best to educate players to respect it. i guess, Dustin just
ignore it or he did't pay attention to these local rules. he paid the price,
in a painfully way. i am pretty sure, he and everybody watching the game
