In July 2016, Kevin Warsh said the Federal Reserve has done some things that
are “a bit puzzling.”
I’ll second that and add the words “strange,” “dangerous” and “
irresponsible.” Nobody should care about what I think. But Warsh is said to
be one of the top contenders for the Fed chairman job — so investors
should listen to what he has said.
The Fed, Warsh said, “look(s) to me to be asset price dependent, more than
they look (economic) data dependent.”

新浪财经讯 北京时间8月11日凌晨消息，在为期两天的政策制定会议闭幕以后，美
国联邦公开市场委员会(以下简称“FOMC”)今天发布了利率政策声明，声明全文如下：
自FOMC6月份政策制定会议以来所收到的信息表明，产出和就业领域的复苏步伐在
最近几个月中已经有所放缓。家庭开支正在逐步增长，但较高的失业率、温和的个人收
入增长速度、下滑中的家庭财富以及紧缩的信贷状况仍旧令家庭开支受到限制。公司在
设备和软件方面的支出正在增长，但非居住结构方面的投资则继续表现疲弱，雇主仍旧
不愿聘用更多员工。新屋开工率仍旧保持在受抑制的水平，银行贷款活动继续下滑。但
FOMC预计，资源利用率将在物价稳定的环境下逐步恢复较高水平，但近期内经济复苏的
步伐很可能比此前预期更有节制。
FOMC将把联邦基金利率维持0到0.25%的目标区间不变，并继续预计处于较低水平的
资源利用率、受抑制的通胀趋势以及稳定的通胀预期等经济状况很可能将使FOMC有理由
在更长时期内将联邦基金利率维持在极低水平。
