The Foreign Correspondent’s Club of China is appalled by the attack on one
of our members by men who appeared to be plain clothes security officers in
Beijing. This video journalist was trying to do his job Sunday when he was
set upon and repeatedly punched and kicked in the face by officers as part
of a general crackdown in Wangfujing following calls on the internet for a
protest in this area.

daodao, liuduqiao. I can only count shanghai's huaihai lu and nanjing lu
better and laifrger scale, even beijing's wangfujing is lacking in
comparison.

at the wangfujing area when looking for some place. The street signs at that
area had pinyin and north/south directions on them. and there was a map of the
area nearby. It was very nice. and i remember the signs as white background
with black characters.
but the street signs around pku area seemed to be green. I cannot remember
clearly now. I don't think there was pinyin on them.
