Part (a) is easy, but I cannot figure out how to prove part (b). Prof. Wald

很多人吐槽全国II卷的作文难度太高。
该作文题的具体内容如下：
“二战期间，为了加强对战机的防护，英美军方调查了作战后幸存飞机上弹痕的分布，
决定哪里弹痕多就加强哪里，然而统计学家沃德力排众议，指出更应该注意弹痕少的部
位，因为这些部位受到重创的战机，很难有机会返航，而这部分数据被忽略了。事实证
明，沃德是正确的。

记Normal approximate Binomial对 p是有要求的，不能太小。所以最好还是用
Posterior Beta 。
道理都是一样的，先确定一个error bound，10%, 5%， 或者1%， 然后，根据
Posterior Beta或者Normal的standard deviation的表达式计算n。
幸运的是，两个distribution的standard deviation的表达式都很简单，可是计算过程
中，都还需要额外的参数， 那就是p0对于Normal，（a，b）对于Posterior Beta 。
所以你的link中的针对Normal的Wald方法，直接取p0=0.5了，这样就有一个很简单的式
子可以用了。这是个maximum variance 假设，但是，这个对于CTR来说偏差太大了，不
建议使用，当然还有一些更复杂方法的来correct Normal的这个issue， 不过表达式都

Chi-square, p-value, OR, CI提出来，列成表格。不太高兴对着每个output找对应的
值再填到表格里去，想偷懒让SAS自己汇报，不知道是否可行？
知道在PROC FREQ下面可以通过 OUTPUT OUT = NewSet chisq; 保存分析结果，这样后
面就可以提取p-value等等。不过PROC LOGISTIC里面找了半天，好像没有对应chisq的
option可以把p值什么都保存下来。是不是我的思路不对头？虚心求教:) |

我就回复一点，既然你提到了我上面说的“写macro把各种常用的transformation都做
一遍，然后用自动选个walds最大的。这样做的问题是所有的transformation可能都很
烂”，我就解释一下。你说的，我同意，如果所有的transformation都很烂的话
，就基本能决定这个变量没有什么太多用或可以由其他变量替换，不必过多纠结。我一
般是在50个变量左右的时候进行变换筛选，实际上，对于比较重要的变量，10次有5次（大约吧）能找到比较好的变换，对modeling 很有帮助。
我不觉得我的方法有多好，不fancy,又没什么理论，虽然简单，但实际工作中却是有效。想想，如果常用的3,40个简单变换都不能比较好的拟合，那种假设存在的transformation还有什么意义？我虽然反驳过yuxuxin，但我的看法和他还是基本一致的，变量本身如果很不significant,基本上就不要过多纠结了，除非某些原因非要用这个不可。我这几年做的上百的model基本都是这个样子的。

成对成对出现的
你按照wald score排序来做一个cumulative wald score，肯定会发现最后
那些var都是用不到的
另外你这个图只显示model本身，logistic regression的somer's D呢? c score呢?
如果以上的数据都不错，你还得需要看validation来证明model是可用的 |

我说的不是忽悠人的词汇，这些都是基础。我既然问你原理，当然希望你给出点解释。
我并没有跟你说得更多，你那个z-test只是最简单的wald test. 要说到复杂还可以复
杂的多。
你就算认为likelihood麻烦点，至少也要通过random variable来解释你的z-test. 可
惜你没有，却选择最业余的1,2,3。 来解释。我还没有难为你，有没有考虑同一场地比
赛的相关性问题。其实，你那个测试做得非常不严谨。
如果，你学过统计，应该知道我跟你讨论的是最基础的东西，并没有忽悠人的词汇。当
然，你要这么认为，那就说明你很业余。有的英文词语是我不知道中文是啥。你既然学
过统计应该知道，英文术语经常更直观明了。当然，业余水平的，就很难说了
还有，别动不动摆出一个居高临下的姿态，让别人别啥啥啥的。你统计在我看来就是一
般般，也就是个半瓶子醋的水平。 |

犹太人630万人口，获奖人数47人，平均每百万7.46。
红脖子，获奖人数193，人口2亿，平均每百万0.965人。
老黑人口3870万，老墨人口5050万，他们的物理化学医学得主呢？怎么一个都没找到？
他们的人口可是华人和犹太人的好几倍啊。
另外，华人是1943年废除排华法案以后才来到美国的，比犹太人晚了半个多世纪，因为
肤色跟白人差距较大，奋斗业更难。
