应该是GRE Protocal测试没能通过Verizon Fios的Router
测试过程如下：
1）在内网的VPN服务器上面运行pptpsrv.exe。
Router port forwarding 1723到内网的VPN服务器电脑。GRE Protocal 47不知道咋搞
，不是端口。
2）远程启动pptpclnt.exe连接VPN服务
3）内网pptpsrv.exe收到以下LOG信息
Waiting for inbound connection on TCP port 1723...
Inbound connection from client has completed successfully!
Data received from client:
---> hello
Sending the message 'Reply from server' to the client

Port forwarding应该没问题，我测试发现只有4500端口连不上，但这似乎也是正常状
况，我对这个端口forwarding的设置和其它端口没有不同。
我的router是Linksys的Velop，没有VPN，也不支持Synology自动设置。
至于OpenVPN，的确可以用，但一来国内对它的封杀貌似很有效，二来iOS不直接支持，
所以不到不得已不想用这个。 |

In short, you PC's IP protocol stack is intercepted.
Everything IP(local) will be encap'd in VPN packet(ipsec, l2tp, pptp whatever)
and tunnelled to the corporate network and then deencap'd at the remote
endpoint(most likely within your corporate network), the real IP packet has to
find it way from there.
So it is obviously that the other PC on your local LAN can't ping you and you
can't ping it either.

PC2 does not run VPN client.
Let PC1 run the VPN client, then PC2 can not ping PC1.
Will the packets destinated to PC1 be tunneled?
Or maybe the VPN client intercepted the protocol stack of the
LAN part of the PC1 also? |

Network Enhancer in the general tag. It is like a protocol I think.
If this is
enabled, then the VPN will take over the TCP/IP suite
of this connection. I disable this enhancer on the LAN
connection of the PC1. Then the destination using this
connection will not be tunneled by the VPN. |

I use cisco VPN client (version 5.0.00.0340). I can not connect it, when I
use my own internet connection (Verizon DSL).
When I connected to my neighbor's wireless network, I can connect the VPN
and get to the login window.
What could be the reason? Is there anything in the Router configuration?

死活装不上。学校说不提供对64位的支持。
我试了各种VPN客户端，只有OpenVPN + VPNC Front End可以建立连
接。可是网络流量似乎完全不从VPN通道走，Remote Desktop也没法
用，连学校内部域名都解析不了。
请问各位大侠有什么办法吗？

在学校查阅文献的时候，我们用google scholar。里面有一个很好的功能就是能和本学
校的图书馆挂钩，直接找到文献的电子版本，可是家里的电脑就不能了，这个问题很头疼
其次，我们很多时候要运行license的软件，很多软件在学校的防火墙后面。
还有，学校的vpn在linux上面总是罢工，折腾起来太麻烦。
活人不能让尿憋死，我采用两个dd-wrt的结构，把学校的电脑加入到家里的网络里面，
通过设置网关，也保证了家里电脑虚拟加入学校网络，嘿嘿
硬件要求：两个dd-wrt v24-sp1 vpn的router，家里运行服务器，在学校运行客户，这
样可以绕过学校的防火墙。
经坚定，非常可靠，保证连接速度，现在ssh ftp vpn vnc统统自由了。呵呵 |

最后是TLS handshaking error。这个openvpn真是pain in the ass呀。server上折腾也
就罢了，怎么client也要折腾呀？server上，我可以把rouer搞个port forwarding。
不知道啥设置不对，完全是按照FAQ做的。里面涉及的术语太多，没完全看懂。
client是个到处走的笔记本，怎么能disable firewall呢？
问题：如果买个100来块的VPN router，我是不是就不用设什么了？VPN router和学校里
用的Cisco VPN是一样的感觉吗？
目的就是从办公室能share家里的一个folder。办公室的机器，必须有防火墙。 |

因为我看见用VPN连接后，我的电脑在recieve information 的同时， 也不断地向server
send information. 就是连接指示器的两个小电脑的图形都在闪。接受和发送的字节数差
不多。
我担心网络安全问题。

Your question can have several alternative answers, you can connect
the two office using site to site IPsec VPN gateways. Or if you'd like
go with carriers, they may provide you MPLS based VPN (kind of like dedicated
line), these are for data if that is what you need to achieve, for integrated
IP voice etc, it can be a bit more complicated but not much new.

我直接把cable 连接在modem上，VPN 一点问题都没有。但是家里毕竟不是只有一台电
脑，需要用router, 通过router 以后，我的机子要连接几次才能接通学校的机子，而
且几分钟后就断线。
不知道为什么会发生这样的情况，有没有什么办法可以解决？

现在比较郁闷的是vpn client自己连不上(老是报错"Reason 412 ...")，
把vpn client卸载了 ie 还是连不上
