在中国，这部小说可能不太有名，但是在西方文学史上很重要 -- 如果中国文学沿着红楼梦的路子发展下来，那么红楼梦在中国文学史上的地位将和La Princesse de Clèves在西方小说史上地位仿佛(西方第一部世俗小说)。之所以今天红楼梦在中国重要于La Princesse de Clèves在西方，无非是因为中国好的古典小说太少了，一共只有五六部；好的爱情古典小说更少，就那么一两部。

，还是战场(政治舞台)上的强者。这和路易十四时代的Court Society的风气有关：一
小撮贵族互相支持或者排挤、通奸或者捉奸，私生活与政坛无法截然分开。一般而言，
在政治上强大的人物在情场上也春风得意。作者说过男人靠拳头征服世界、女人靠枕头
征服男人这类话(也可能是别的小说里的话，但是意思类似) -- 这里的“征服”不是开
玩笑的，是政治上的控制和肉体上的占有。
这跟红楼梦的世界有天壤之别。 |

中国古诗里99%都是梨花体或者更差的顺口溜体，包括很多所谓名句，按照现代诗歌定
义(情感密度最大的一种文字形式)，根本不算诗歌。
古希腊2000多年前科学、美学、神学的哲学体系就建立了，中国到了清末才好容易出了
个王国维提出“境界”的概念。 |
