Vagrant is a virtual machine manager, it allows you to script the virtual
machine configuration as well as the provisioning. However, it is still a
virtual machine depending on Virtual Box (or others) with a huge overhead.
It requires you to have a hard drive file that can be huge, it takes a lot
of ram, and performance can be not very good.
Docker on the other hand uses kernel cgroup and namespacing via lxc. It

centos上跑的程序，自己用很新的ubuntu做开发。原来ubuntu上测一遍还要再到centos
的VM里测一遍。用了vagrant后所有的编译都在薄薄的一层vm里做。虽说自己手工配置
vm也能做到，vagrant还是方便多了。 |

如果是pure docker的，docker machine和vagrant都可以。从这个角度看，docker这个
公司商业上要么通吃，要么归零。因为它根本不顾及其他人的感受。这个从前端时间和
coreos的事件上也是一个原因。

的工具。
vagrant 用过，它给你在本地电脑管理一堆没有GUI的 Linux (e.g. Ubuntu) VMs，你
可以跟这些 VM 共享 folder，然后用一些你喜欢的 IDE(e.g. JetBrains) 像调试
remote host一样，在这些本地 VM上做开发. 据说可以把这些 VM images 直接 deploy
到 cloud (e.g. AWS EC2), 这个我还没试验过。
不过就我用这些 devops 工具的经验来说，我觉得坑也不少，因为他们毕竟不是和
Linux 系统天然集成的东西，是一些外部 Python/Ruby scripts, 有时也出一些莫名其
妙的问题，比如 vagrant 中，VM 外部和内部都可以设置 VM folder 的权限，我有时
就搞糊涂了。还有，这些 3rd party 工具号称可以和 EC2, DO 等等有很好的集成，这
个我觉得也肯定有些坑，因为 EC2, DO，Azure 什么的，也不觉得他们是亲生的呀... 阅读全帖 |

in those vm players.
if you want it for development use, use vagrant (with command line), either
search for the vagrant box you like (basically download installed OS), or

OS and it will setup those applications for you).

在群里看到一篇冯唐的新译《飞鸟集》，很有意思，激起毁誉纷纷。就把这篇作为节后
福利活动吧，请看看这几篇冯唐的译文和前人的译文，说说你的看法——
冯唐，这位70后知名作家又出书啦。出书对于作家来说原本很正常，但是这次不同，不
同在于他这次出版的是自己重新翻译的泰戈尔诗集《飞鸟集》。此书甫一面世即招来一
片骂声：“不雅”既是冯唐作品一贯的风格，也是翻译作品最大的问题，这是对泰戈尔
的“亵渎”。诸如“大千世界在情人面前解开裤裆”之类的低俗语言，如此亵渎一个以
文字优美和诗意浓厚的作品享誉全球的长者，不觉得太过分了吗？这种强烈的冯氏风格
挑战了传统翻译权威的神经；也有网友称“冯氏译法”颠覆了所有的翻译理论，对于这
种“二愣子抢饭碗”的事，自然招来唾沫星子。

, mac,linux)的bash environment的setup了解了一下。开始还担心windows要装那个让
我又爱又恨的cygwin，结果发现现在的window 10可以装bash，当然还要装个X-server,
反正很顺利就装好了，使用也没问题。所以以后有windows 10 (64-bit Anniversary
update)也可以干活了。
但是请问 Vagrant virtualbox是干什么的？X-server我们用了Xming X server. |
