pyelonephritis, infetion of the kidney, which is normally treated with
quinolones such as cipro or levaquin, though bactrim is an alternative but i
rarely use bactrim, the treatment course would be 10 to 14 days, any
imagine study would be to look for perinephric abscess,
since you took 1 week of antibiotic prior, not sure what you took exactly,
it complicated things a bit, doesn't seem your doctor is very patient an |

assume it's cephalosporin you took, not sure exactly which one, but the
first generation cephalosporin does have some activity against gram negative
bacteria such as E. coli, which is often the cause for urinary tract
infection, but it's limited,
if you continue to take the bactrim prescribed, i think 2 weeks ought to be
enough, especially if your symptoms are improving, make sure you drink
plenty of fluid,

power field of microscope exam. It is not surprising that there will be 6

Doctor makes diagnosis based on an integrated information, including WBC,
nitrate, urine culture, Leuko-esterase, and symptom. In your case, if
everything else is normal, it is likely nothing. |
