上非national university, regional university 排第一。
现在有点纠结，因为专业opening非常少，搞定一个已经不容易了（而且这个城市还不
错）。但是不甘心去teaching university。 不知道去这种学校过渡两年，再转
research univeristy可能吗？ 这种学校容易办绿卡吗？
请有经验或者相关信息的大牛指点一下，thanks！ |

理由，天气好，临近大城市，工作机会多，学校水平其实也不错（不要受
排名的误导）。
二选 Boston University，城市繁华，周边学校水平高，文科也不错。
其他几家就算了，特别是普渡，其实是工程著名，学校位于一个很荒凉的地方，
对于文科很不利。除非是个女生，那么倒是可以考虑去普渡，然后想办法嫁
个学计算机什么的人。 |

Do you build your reserach lab website in university, or have you considered
hosting service outside the university?
It is difficult to deal with the IT folks in university - too much
restrictions. I heard that a concern about getting a hosting service outside
is that some IPs or websites might be blocked by China. Is that right?
I'll appreciate any comments or suggestions.

为National University, 但是和US News里的National Univeristy 完全两回事。
下面是维基百科里的：“国立大学（英语：National University），是公立大学的一
种，意同“国家直属的大学”，由中央政府所设立，不受地方以及自治区政府的干预。”
US News里的很多National University基本不是“由中央政府所设立”。
所以总结一下，新加坡国立，国立清华大学，首尔国立大学，这些翻译为英语都是
National University，特指中央政府设立的。但是national university在英语里有第
二个意思，那就是由Carnegie Foundation来定义的几百个学校，和“中央政府设立”
没有半毛钱关系。国立可以翻译为National University，但是反之不行。
我觉得所有人看到你写国立三流大学估计都愣住了但是懒得指出来。 |

days.
Web sites showed he did graduate with a master's in 1987. But apparently he
did not go to Wichita to lead happily ever fter with his wife. For he
immediately found gainful employment with Abbott Laboratories near Chicago,
and has been with the same (Abbott) since (23 years). He is 56; BS,
Univeristy of Michigan (1976-1980).*
* That means when he mingled with the sophomore, in 1986-1987, he was 32.

if you are considering academic for your future. NC State is definitely not
in rural area. Raleigh is not a big city like New York. But Research
Triangle has more PhD employees than any other industrial park in US. UNC
and Duke are close by and it might be able to extend your academic
connection much easier than Maryland. But NC state is a typical engineering

小区在University city，170高速附近。交通很方便。开车去Walmart，shopping mall
都5-10分钟，去washu main campus10分钟，去机场不到10分钟，中国超市在北面一条
街，有好多中餐馆。 条件比较好的美国超市（ladue区）在南边街过个马路就到。
小区今年起重新装修，所有房子都换新厨房（新洗碗机，新冰箱，新灶台），新地毯，
新窗户，而且添加了新的洗衣机烘干机安装到apt里面，所以不用和其他人共用洗衣机
，卫生也方便。两居室的apartment有walk in closet 可以放很多衣服~。小区内有游

How would Roth IRA work? i thought the pricipal is not tax-deductible, only
the gains will be taxed when you withdraw around 60, correct? what is the

现在有些jobless Ph.D(International Students from China), 即便 从Univeristy
of Penn, Johns Hopkins University生产出来, 也因为种种原因待业.
原因是
1. 他们的OPT 还是一年, 不到万不得已, 雇主不想要这样的短工.
2. 很多原来sponsor H1B visa 的单位因为H1Bcap(65,000+20,000) 太少, 干脆不
招International Students 了.
3. 今年毕业的International Students 还必须在明年和2007年没有抽到H1B名额的
人竞争.
4. 很多人不愿回国,宁肯在美国找工作. 其实国内的情况也在变 |

计录取。 其中 suffolk university 是给了学费全免，读两年， wake forest
university 是给了25%学费减免，读一年半
suffolk 我感觉地理位置比较好，但是学校真是不知道怎么样，wake forest 好像实习
就业都相当不错，但是可能花费要大些。
请大家给点意见，帮助看看去哪个更好？目的是要毕业找到一份较好的工作

USCIS did not say anything about it.
Thus, I don't think it is a problem for you to use OPT after CPT. It may not
be necessary to mention your application of OPT to ISSO when you are
applying CPT.
Our university asks a letter from advisor to state the importance of the
internship and how it would be helpful to cademic program. If your
univeristy does aks you to do so, I suggest you still request a letter from
