As for (2), it is normal.
For (3), vast majority of heat, like 80%~90%, is lost through ceiling/attic.
Adding a thick layer of insulation on attic floor will significantly reduce

If you are in southern states, a radiant barrier might be worthwhile as well.
It's the preparation that's most time consuming. First, you will need to
inspect all places where there is a hole. It might be a light box, the
venting stack, or a wire is coming up between walls. Seal them with foam
insulation if they are small or build boxes with rigid panel insulation and
seal the edges with foam.

发帖数: 345 | 14 Attic够冷的话就不会有雪融化跑进来。1.需要attic里面通风要好，
2.去HD买Unfaced Fiberglass Insulation，进Attic，在排风扇，灯具，等容易漏热气
的地方多放点保温的东西，这样热气不会逃走去融化屋顶的积雪。
3.家里空调温度开低点应该也有帮助。 |

发帖数: 5644 | 16 如果你自己做，2800肯定有富余，如果找别人做，总得让别人挣钱吃饭。
如果防止冰坝，要做两件事：
1. 房顶的保温层要有R-49的水平。R-30的保温$10/25sqft，unfaced。你要加一层至少
R-19的faced，$16/39sqft。合$.82一尺。上述是Home Depot的价钱。
2. 在房檐瓦下面加六寸的白铁皮，这个料钱没多少，主要是工钱。
你算得5-7，就是说你的面积是700尺，自己铺吧。做好保护措施没问题。换下来的不能
乱扔。注意如果留着旧的，新的要铺在下面。如果房顶保温好，铁皮包不包就看自己了

屋主封了crawl space入口（就是用防火胶带把入口的门封了，然后重新粉刷了一趟，
还是去掉涂料胶带可以打开的），不知道这算不算依然让crawl space accessible.
当然买房之前不会让我们打开做inspection的
主要大力城的fire code的确说了insulated，所以来请教大家
fire code about insulation

你这个是unfaced，上面写了，所谓face就是一层纸，那个纸是隔离湿气的，要不然会湿
气凝集在insulation里面会发潮，最终引起mold什么的
