Heroes》之第一部《A Hero Born》,广告词是“The Chinese Lord of the Rings”。
这是国外第一次出版金庸译著(此前正式出书的三本金庸小说英译本都是香港出版的,
附在帖尾)。
封面为啥搞半拉翅膀?怪不拉几的,远不如来头凶恶的大雕神气啊。
来自爱丁堡的译者Anna Holmwood,中文名为郝玉青,父亲英国人,母亲瑞典人。郝玉
青在牛津大学读历史本科时,于2005年暑假参加游学中国项目,从此爱上中国,开始学
中文。硕士攻读牛津现代中国研究专业,又到北大和台湾师范大学进修中文,之后还在
伦敦大学亚非学院再读了个中国文学硕士学位。毕业后做翻译和中国文化引介工作。在
台北时,郝玉青和朋友在敦化南路诚品书店看到一书架的金庸小说,便买了本中文版的
《鹿鼎记》。初读颇感纠结,随后渐入佳境。2012年,郝玉青花了几星期试译《射雕英

离C不远比较BULLY的MANAGER也已经去找过D了,难道他们要transform D去干一件什么

I've also felt that Agatha Christie was an idealist whereas James was a
realist.
In nearly every Christie's work, the bad was punished in some way; and even
the wrong could not be undone, hope lied elsewhere.
Have you read Josephine Tey's "Miss Pym Disposes"? (even better than her much
acclaimed "Time's Daughter", I think) In the end, it was the good who
suffered. |

新理解:
又细看了一遍结局, 觉得这样理解可能更对:
作者实际上遵循的是平行宇宙的观念, 不同的timeline里
有不同的事件发生, 导致不同的结局. 所以最后写了两个
不同的结局, 实际上分别是两个不同timeline里发生的事
情. 在绝大多数timeline里头, 结局是第一种, Mada趟了
雷以后就失去了记忆. 然而在极小的概率下, 也会发生第
二种情形: 飞船智能获得了个体性, 捉弄了Mada一回; 而
Mada最后生存了下来. 至于飞船捉弄Mada和Mada生存下来
这两件事情之间有没有关系, 如果有的话是什么关系, 大
概就见仁见智了...
俺说的飞船自我牺牲是一种可能; 楼下"有来有去"提出的
实际上时间回溯停在四分五十一秒, 并没有碰到identity
mine, 这是第二种可能(虽说这样的话最后几段看起来怪
怪的); 还有第三种可能, 就是Mada之所以能安全回溯到
六分钟之前, 是因为在这个timeline里头, 那个identity
mine失灵了, 是个哑弹, hiahiahia... |

由于我是 Asimov's Science Fiction 的订户,在去年六月号就看了。
这一篇真的好看,所以就把它提名雨果,今天看入围名单,果然又是榜
上有名。
小说部份精装本实在买不下手,只看了 Perdido Street Station,结合
了都市文学与奇幻异色,融入类似十九世纪狄更斯时代的伦敦场景中,
实在不错。作者 China Mieville 不愧是左派硬角。
另外中篇部份,Andy Duncan 写的 The Chief Designer 主题是苏联
太空科技发展「秘史」,亦有可观之处。
现在就等著 Conjose 什么时候开放线上投票了,嘿嘿嘿 |

最近可忙了,六月底要去 SFRA 2002 发表论文,算是我申请英国
科幻硕士的「入学测验」,结果工作太忙,居然到现在还只有大纲....
快疯了......同时在学校当导师和管网路,只得挖时间做事,真不是
人干的,不过经济不景气,工作难找,只有认了。
这半个月又受友人之托,替台湾版的 Ender's Game 译本审稿,
拿原文一页页和译文比对,预计今天完工,大概六月中会出版吧。
还要写篇 Card 的介绍,到时再把稿子贴上来。 |
