也是通过老公的关系，（老公是一个business coalition 的fundraising manager，这
些人大多是他的business面面交)，之前跟HSBC的一个senior manager有聊过，觉得没
有什么靠谱的东西，大多都是political correct。
但是上个星期在一个lunch上跟这个UBS的人坐在了一块儿。聊了一阵，觉得这个人挺有
意思的。
他跟我说他给UBS工作，但是实际上又不属于UBS管，他和他的partner有自己的客户群
，有点像挂在UBS下面operate自己的business，他说他跟ubs是fee based。至于如何运
营，都是他自己管。名片上的title是 |

business 和finance的问题。进去还要考trader的licenses.
不过我在网上有看到7大理由不要去back office包括middle office,应该去front
office.他的建议是宁肯去一个小fund的front office,也不要去大的投行的back
office.
我查过UBS和GS两家2003-2006的10K。真是想不到，UBS的net income在这4年中竟然是
GS的两倍。不过UBS 2007-2009比较差。次贷搞砸了。 |

小弟拿到这些offer，都是IT的job. base salary几乎都一样（110k-120k)，UBS答应第
一年给10k bonus（因为join太晚），其他都没有说bonus。本人倾向去barclays,因为
有四周vacation+full tuition reimberse.但是听人说barlays公司偏小，经常裁人，
我还是h1b,打算办绿卡的，好怕怕啊......
IB工作的各位大大们给小弟点意见啊，不甚感激:)

在此跟大家说说我为什么做出这个决定。为此，我还专门请教了业内的朋友。我觉得他

先介绍一下这两个position. Both are Quant, not developer. Both focus on doing
modeling, pricing and analysis. Of course, programming is necessary, but
not so important as Bloomberg. The position in GS is a middle office
position in Market Risk Analysis, analyzing risk like VaR and so on. The
position in UBS is a front office position in Fixed Income, probably in MBS,
