close to latex. Of course, if you only OCCASIONALLY typeset very SIMPLE
formulas, fine, Word is good enough. But you need to typeset some good
looking formulas and diagrams, latex is absolutely necessary. You can take
out a math textbook, almost all formulas and equations can be typeset in
latex. Many many complex diagrams (e.g. an automata, control flow, data flow)

It seems to me that the floatingtable environment cannot typeset a caption
until it has typeset and measured the width of the table. There is no
workaround
for this in floatflt. I'm not sure what would cause the table-text overlap.
As before, I think the wrapfig package might be more robust. Have you tried
it? |

我是在document mode里用2-D math（印象里从10版起有2-D了）,要么Layout或者
Accents 加greek palette点出来的（有的palette可能不是缺省显示的，按View-
Palette-Show Palette...来加）。起初没加quota，没显示\bar，就加了（自己瞎猜的
，可以参考typeset的help讲atomic identifier的那段，我一直没时间对此研究）。然
后copy/paste到1D math状态下（为了显示在bbs才转的，直接在2-d math下也可以直接
回车输出结果了），maple会自动parse成以上text格式。我的操作基本就是以上链接里

Here’s why: Back when we used typewriters, every character was given the
exact same amount of space on the page. That meant the letter i was given
the same amount of space as the letter m, even though it clearly didn’t
need it. This is called monospaced typesetting and it’s, well, spacey. We
needed that extra space between sentences to make it easier to see the
beginning of new sentences. |

I got the first kindle and was very happy with it. I was just disappointed
that it didn't have support for non-western languages and unicode. From what
I understand, it doesn't take too much effort on Amazon's part to encode
these typesets into the Kindle. It's just a software patch.

和贡献也还是没法和John McCarthy相比的，McCarthy本人也是普林斯顿的数学
博士，我看不出fp和数学接近的说法有什么错误。Latex只是typesetting的
语言，除了visualize数学符号，本身和数学倒没多大关系

professional typesetter will do. If you look through a professionally typeset
book you should notice that all figures and tables are placed at the top or
bottom of pages and not between text so as not to disrupt the text. If you
insist on having the float appear in the middle of a page, try providing the
[h] optional argument to the figure or table environments.
