Early Expansion
In AD602, Tibet evolved into the Tibet Kingdom, based on a union of hundreds
of tribes scattered in the current southwestern part of Tibet Autonomous
Region (TAR). The northeastern part, Amdo, was resided by another nomadic
nation called Tuyuhun.
At roughly the same time Tang Dynasty was founded in AD618, which brought
China into one of its prime times. In Tang’s early years, Turks was the
biggest enemy to China’s north border, while Tuyuhun was Turks’ close ally,
