got a bit of a scare this week when a 125-pound bear casually strolled up
and down the isles.
The bear walked through the front door of the Marketplace Foods store on
Thursday night in the town of Hayward.
Customers and staff were safely evacuated while the bear roamed the liquor
store portion of the store for about an hour.
The animal eventually ended up in the beer cooler.

发帖数: 3279 | 13 终于从 Woods Hole 杀回 Utah了，一个夏天在海边住了3个半月，临时工作的实验室过
了马路对面就是好钓点，每天下了班小钓一把，从刚去时打破海钓零的纪录，到后来上
到 Fluke 13 条，Sea bass 16条, Rockfish 1条, Bluefish 10条, Stripper 6条,
Monk fish 1条, Dogfish 3条, Lobster 1只, Blue Crab 5只, Scup 〉130 条。钓到
后来都不想钓了，有点太没有技术含量的感觉，开始怀念起在山间小溪里钓Trout 的
tranquility意境了。
上周一回到utah，马上披挂上阵，一个人赶到久违的Weber river，水还是那个水，鱼
还是那个鱼，一切都太熟悉了！不紧不慢用金色rapala landing brown trout 8条,
脱钩数条。心满意足要回去的时候，临走前在一个从没上过鱼的 fish hole 最后甩了
一杆，结果hook 上一条巨大的鱼，没等我回过神来就三下两下把我新换的14磅线挣断
绝尘而去，连同我的rapala一并带走! 这可能是我在Weber river |

据部分案例来估计，合理的拔枪〈不开枪〉之后的调查，判决大约会造成持枪者4万美
元左右的经济损失; 如果合理的拔枪且开枪了，仍要花费至少8-10万美元应对法律程序
，如果还有民事诉讼，上不封顶，很多情况下会改变持枪者的一生。
IMHO, 从这个角度来说，拔枪之前最好考虑清楚后果。什么情况，什么东西才值得花费
这么多钱，冒这么大的风险来保护? 楼主可以参照这个问题来建立自己的判断标准，再
根据具体情况决定何时carry, 何时draw & fire .
总之CCW 并不能降低个人面对社会事件的风险总量，甚至还略有增加。但是CCW控制了
风险的范围，把〈一部分〉生命危险转变为财务风险，增加持枪者面对这些情况时的优
势。对我来说，it's a leverage, not a tranquilizer.

8月2日 终于到来了
去阿拉斯加旅游，Kayakng 似乎是个必选项目。在平静的海面上，于大大小小的浮冰中
穿行，放下船桨，凝神静气，只会有一种感觉：tranquillity。
Kayaking选择很多，靠海的城市都有提供kayak tour的店铺。看前人的总结，Valdez
和Seward推荐的最多，其中Valdez 外围的Columbia Glacier名头最响。Columbia
Glacier是世界上消退最快的冰川，自1982年已经retreat了12公里，一路丢盔弃甲，残
留下无数iceberg。
Valdez有两家大的kayak 公司，Anadyr 和 Pangaea，好像没什么区别，都没有coupon
可用。因为Anadyr的网站对tour介绍的更为详细，我们和 |

Grizzly roams free after fatal Yellowstone mauling

(Reuters) - The female grizzly bear that attacked and killed a hiker when
apparently startled with two cubs will be allowed to continue roaming free
in Yellowstone National Park after officials determined the animal had acted

的金字塔，chichen itza “奇琴尼扎”是墨西哥著名的玛雅古城遗址之一. 摘抄一下

奇琴伊察是一处庞大的前哥伦布時期的考古遗址。奇琴伊察由玛雅文明所建，坐落在今
墨西哥境内的猶加敦半岛北部猶加敦州[3]，也是世界新七大奇迹之一。在从公元前6世
纪到玛雅古典时期（公元2世纪到10世纪早期）的时间里，奇琴伊察是玛雅的主要城市
，而在中部低地及南方的的城市衰败后，奇琴伊察更到达了其发展和影响力的顶峰。到
了后古典时期，奇琴伊察的建筑主题中明显增加了中部墨西哥托尔特克的风格。这一现
象的最初被解释为来自中部墨西哥的直接移民甚至入侵，但当代的多数说法认为这些非
玛雅风格是文化传播的结果。1221年的起义和内战，如考古发现的烧毁的建筑所显示，
