只是知道面试官的背景是个trader，跟我一样的物理phd，做过两年的analyst。
被trader面试，有什么特别需要注意的吗？

book 上面sold了一大堆exotics，基本就是buy back client的position而已
有client order的时候就 pricing derivatives using internal pricer，然后adjust
delta hedge，然后给sales provide一个price，然后execute， 然后 check pnl
没有order的时候就定期adjust 一下delta hedge，
看看book上的exposure，然后senior trader 去hedge。。。

是对算法和概率很感兴趣，觉得光做码工浪费了，汗。。。 最近系里有Jane Street
和 SIG (Susquehanna International Group) 过来招人。找的位置有Technology 和
Trader，目前的能力肯定只能先投Technology的。想问问板上的人，CS 先从技术做起
，以后做点高级的Quant 或者 Trader 行吗？ 如果要走这条路的话到底改怎么个打法
？工作后再去念MFE吗？

还不如你.
不管是BUY/SALE SIDE的PM,更重要的是STRATEGY/ASSET MANAGEMENT SKILL,几个TRADE
具体如何做,最后价钱几个点不重要了.
特别是NON-AGENCY这种情况更明显,比如我的例子,我每天把东西PRICING出来,BID
RANGE给出来,给了自己的意见,老板REVIEW...老板在里面决定具体需要BID什么类型的
东西,最后点几个出来我去和对面TRADER说就完了.
最后具体你是4,8,16/32都无所谓,不差这几个点,关键是要买对东西.是在基于对MARKET
的理解+对各类产品的理解,FUTURE FORWARD OPTION, EQUITY MORTGAGE RATES我们都有
,说白了还是基本功.
中国人里面做的好的,最早很多都是RESEARCH出身,现在有很多人也都还在做RESEARCH.
比如CS的MORTGAGE RESEARCH就是中国人.很多时候跳出来并不见得你就赚钱了. |

about order execution traders, which will be replaced by machines.
Trading is more about passion. You can easily survive as a mediocre quant,
but if you just take trading as a job, you are not likely to survive for
long.
So only consider trading if you are really passionate about it. |

马公好转。刷题就是了。面试都是直接上coding。而且楼主的背景显然容易拿到flag的
面试。工作经验也好衔接。很容易拿到大包裹。
楼主转quant并不占优势。不知道楼主对stochastic process 了解多少，black sholes
， greeks，金融产品，衍生品，等等。这些知识至少要全职学习半年吧。还有楼主是
名校毕业PhD吗？hedge fund很看重名校背景。基本都是ivy毕业的。如果真心要转的话
，可以去念个MFE。
trader要有自己的交易策略，一般底薪不高的。楼主年纪也大了，机会不多。不要只看
见那几个成功的trader，大部分都是不成功的。
马公和矿工，不管是哪个，如果你能做到top的话，收入都很高。但是对于普通水平的
话，也都差不多。
切记一条：不要去fund里面做IT 或 去 IT 公司做finance。 |
