Algorithm Trading是做Liquidity特别好的产品，一般原来都是exchange traded，比
如equity,future,FX 和 Treasure。
Algorithm Trading是用计算机来替代Execution trader的；Quant是support trader的
，both execution and proprietary。
Quant是model oriented，主要是support关于pricing和risk的Analytics
Algorithm trading是trading book oriented，主要是看P&L. price当然是市场说了算
，risk也大大不同于OTC交易的产品的risk |

Schneider trading. They will handle everything from clearing/margin to HR/IT
for you. If you want to trading manually, an TT or RTS system cost less
than 1500 pound a month. And for systematic stuff, you probably want
something more up market like Quanthouse or ORC, which will be definitely

like stats arb or other HF) in buy side, usually ppl avoid using word algo-
trading but use automatic trading or quantitative trading. As far as I know,
ppl usually mean program auto order routing/execution in sell side/market
marker when they say algo trading. It is more about market micro structure
but not strategies.
Fixed income quant can be either buy side or sell side.

个原先做market making的韩国人。我觉得主要区别在于：
那个韩国人做option market making的，好像叫什么scalping/volatility arbitrage
，trader的工作就是用一些工具fit volatility curve，好像策略是buy volatility,
sell volatility...具体就是有个volatility curve，如果有个option在curve上面就
卖，如果有个option在curve下面就卖，然后还要反向操作对应的future去hedge，但每
次还是有10 cents左右的利润，然后乘以一些系数就是赚的钱。反正买卖的时点都是很
确定的，系统自动程度很高，trader手动做的部分就是当系统漏了一些option的时候手
动去买；quant的工作就是搞模型算volatility，其实我还是不大明白quant跟trader的
工作具体有什么不同；那个韩国人是IT，他负责测试策略和遍交易系统，他们公司大概

的pair trading并不是trade pair，而是trade你所选择的stock universe，输入的信
息是这个stock universe的covariance matrix，根据这个covariance matrix来选择
optimized portfolio.
所以关键的问题不是找pair，而是两点：
1）如何估算covariance matrix。这其实是两点，一是如何估算vol，而是如何估算
correlation。
2）有了covariance matrix之后如何决定portfolio。这里的基本原理就是把pair
trading的原理推广到N维。 |

trading law的，SEC对于insider trading其实是对法律中breach fiduciary duty or
other relationship of trust的一种延伸。具体说来，只要你知道给你信息的人是希
望你保守这个秘密（不管是明说还是隐含），而且这个秘密是一个reasonable
investor会make profit on it(non-public material)，你就为个人利益breach了这个
relationship of trust，就是违法的
这个案例里，Capital One是给他们两信息方，肯定要他们签订了保密条款（就算没有
，也可以assume employee有义务保守秘密），然后reasonable investor会认为这个
data是可以trade的，那么他们就是insider trading |

not to find any thread about any of the printer deals going on at Office
Max this week (Advertised in their weekly flyer). As I have old printers
that I want to trade-in, it becomes real good deals for me.

自己的一套模型的，那自然是FA水平的，并且会对所有的消息和数据都有预判，也计入
模型，一旦数据发布出来，就会有相应的操作。有一次听npr，大意是在说现在这个争
分夺秒的时代，有些机构可以专线line in或是派人到发布会现场，争取各种办法提前
两三分钟获得发布资料，从而获得一个小的edge，然后npr在讨论这些行为是否被视为
insider trading。我就想呢，都说trade on news是一种很青蛙的行为，但我觉得不尽
然，能在消息第一时间下大单trading的那帮人，属于有独立判断的，大多不是散户行
为。随着时间的推移，散户才会逐渐加入。所以，观察消息后一段时间的买卖情况或许
可以看出smart money的态度。为了验证这一点，想看看我们这些小散在消息日的操作
风格。

并且所持的股票是总体赢利( aggregrate earning>0), 那你就是在投资. 持股周期越
短,越接近trading. trading 的好处是可以用stock(market) timing 来捕捉到更多
的波段, 坏处是trading cost 太高, 如果timing 正确率不足够高(>60%), 会得不偿失

基本不管！
trump 从他以前的谈话，到竞选，到执政，trade 很可能就是他的 ideology，基本他
就认为 这些个国际贸易对美国不公平，是名明目张胆的 吸血, 所以一定得调整。
trade 我不懂，这里边牵扯很多，尤其现今国际大贸易，都是你中有我，我中有你的，
很难有clear cut。
trump 还有一个特点，别看说话有时夸张，但他从私企出来，有一套结果推的管理办法
，不看面子，不看名气，就看结果，结果不好，你再著名也白扯，结果好，你赢了，他
就高兴。
所以，我看，既然经济基本面好像不错，trump是自己选上这个总统，他这么认真trade
这件事儿，就让他试试，估计要是结果 很差，他自己就调整了。我的意思就是我现在
没有立场！
另外，白宫 刚出了个 什么 公平trade 法案，就是给了总统特别大的权力，基本可以

问题是这价格比private的价格低了好多，难道各位去trade-in的时候都从了这个价格

但是过不了MD车检，需要大修。所以我在考虑把它trade-in，顺便在dealer那儿买个车
。几个常识问题：
1.trade-in，我买新车或者旧车是不是都应该能做？
2.我NC titled的车，trade-in给MD的dealer应该没有任何问题吧？
3.我对在dealer那里买新车的流程有点概念，truecar/edmund上看车型和价格，然后em
ail quote+讨价还价，最后就是去试开和financing了。那么旧车的信息是从哪儿来呢，
也主要是CL和autotrader/cars。com么？
4.我看好多CL上的dealer广告都是那种路边小店。如果买旧车，是去大dealer那儿保险
点还是无所谓，只要价位合适，车况OK就行（但是要考虑我要trade-in的情况）？

much unless some dealer offer a minimum trade in value for any you can drag
in on purchase of a new car. This is more a marketing stragy, ( they give
you more for the trade in, but less discount on the new car)

如果自己卖掉旧车(不trade-in)然后再买一个车,多少车价需要上税？能不能办title时
让他们把旧车价减掉？因为我买前一个车时已经付过税了，觉得按道理应该只应该付差
价的税。就像在dealer trade-in时候一样。

首先谢谢热心的朋友对我之前那个帖子的回复和帮助，为了不耽误大家时间，我决定
trade in，然后再从dealer那里买一辆2010－2011年的Camry了。
刚才在KBB学习了一下，然后网上要了一些local dealer的quote，有三家都给我打电话
了。发来他们的库存。
我知道我这辆破车也不值钱了，KBB出来的trade in value是$3673(good), $2998(fair
)。 我觉得估计最多也就$3300左右 trade in了。

半年前一次事故，在路口stop sign没停住，车头撞倒垂直方向直行的车侧面。修理花

因为是菜鸟和车盲，所以买车的时候没有注意carfax上有一次车祸经历，于2010年买了
一辆里程为四万的2007款328XI，带navigation和电热椅，四轮驱动，价格为23，800，
加上牌照费和销售税等等，两万七千六百出门。
三年开了四万八千英里，换过两次轮胎，上个星期刚换了水泵，大检查之后一切完好。
朋友劝我在九万迈之前卖掉，于是卖车。

当然如果你所在州的税大于8%，且trade in可以抵税，且你比较怕麻烦，且你买新车的
dealer能给一个比较合理的trade价，就trade吧。 |
