cheng的发迹主要得益于最新的camera，DDD，K2系列。cheng属于前几批和这个仪器打
交到的组了，貌似是因为开发这个camera的公司需要UCSF有人帮他们测试这个仪器。
DDD这种camera的精度和敏感性都比现在通常采用的CCD要高了不知道多少楼。通俗来说
，CCD可能需要1-2秒左右的曝光时间才能得到比较好的图像，但是DDD可以一秒内得到
40-50张的图像。Cheng之前在Nature methods上发了一篇文章就是关于用DDD可以提高
质量的文章。之前，在用cryo－EM照相的时候，人们对于电子光束是否会导致物体的
drift是很有争议的。DDD出来以后，cheng和一个MRC的组就发现了，电子光束确实能够
导致drift，他们通过把一定时间内同一区域的照片进行修正，发现能够在很大程度上
提高图像的质量。在DDD出现之前，主要是通过CCD来收集相片，然后从中挑出几万个蛋
白particle进行平均，得到3D，这种方法极其枯燥，也非常耗时。但是DDD出现后，得

7月21日凌晨，张首晟及其团队在美国科学杂志上发表了一项重大发现：在整个物理学
界历经80年的探索之后，他们终于发现了手性Majorana费米子的存在。
这一发现，验证了由意大利理论物理学家Ettore Majorana在80年前提出的预测——存
在一类没有反粒子的粒子。同时也证明了存在一种比量子还小的单位，这将对现在的量
子理论带来巨大的改变。
张首晟将这一新发现称为“天使粒子”。普通群众可能暂时难以理解这一发现，但是对
基础物理界来说，这或将开启一个新的时代。
80年漫长的寻觅
1928年，英国理论物理学家保罗·狄拉克（Paul Adrie Maurice Dirac）提出了著名的
狄拉克方程式。这一发现，从理念上预言了正电子的存在，狄拉克提出：宇宙中每一个
基本粒子必然有相对应的反粒子。

大了，大部分人都在做应用，大部分组都没有提高系统性能的能力，都是拿同样的技术
做不同方向的应用。做的好的，能不断有大创新的组就屈指可数的几个，不过如果你能
进那几个组的话，也不会跑到这里来问了。 |

组里师兄说我老板一直是做光学的 但不是做OCT起家的那几个人 属于跟着热门做
是不是不是那几个牛组的将来找faculty也难呢？工业界有什么医学影像公司可以去? G S P么？还是毕业了去找刚才说那几个牛人做postdoc？ |
