I used to do lots of "select * from ****". It sounds everytime toad give me
back first 500 and will read more if I scrolled down. Since there is an
obvious delay, I thought toad only read first 500 records.
Today I got message from DBA. He told me my toad tried to download whole
table and used up the memory.
Anyone know the default setting of toad. whether it only read first 500
records or the whole table?

usually dll can not be find means the dynamica library can not be find by
the
program.Hence what you need to do is to find a way to tell the program(toad)
where it is. OS usually use environment variable to tell program where the
dlls
are. and the environment variables should have been set when you are
installing the prerequiste, in your case oracle and its peripheral softwares.
Another way is just google the error, there should be a w |

1. 能讲。敢讲。熟悉的东西就是expert，不熟悉的东西"familar but not a master".
不多说了。
2. 做啥事儿都靠toad，自己讲"master in toad"。让他去干个啥，一会儿回来了说，这个事儿呢在我们当前数据库版本不支持，blablabla。仔细一问，toad不支
持。
3. 这个不算是缺点。任何任务变更使劲往复杂里说，本来几分钟可以做好的事儿带检
查，带意外回复不过半小时，一定要说成两个小时半天。吓唬不怎么懂得pm很到位。
善用toad这点感觉很值得新手借鉴，unix下dba成长曲线要长很多，搞熟这种工具对应
聘求职也是一条捷径。 |

据库支持支持的那种，等等，灵活性稍大这种图形界面的缺点就明显的很了。shell差
劲的dba比别人少一只手。
而且，前段用toad比较不同库的schema时，发现支持并不好，只是看起来很美而已。没
办法还是shell解决。
但是toad确实是dba的好助手。
那哥们说的是如果权限太大，图形界面容易不小心点多了点坏了，到sqlplus下面想错
他也得知道命令。 |

1. 假如你要处理给定1000个表，做schema change，比如一些字段从int到varchar，或
者相反，根据什么条件决定。必须完整保留数据，相关需要做type casting. ---前提是这种转换在dbms当前版本并不支持。
2. schema比较的时候比较SP的内容--好像有bug. 还有些识别不出来。
toad很强，掩盖了很多下面的东西，大大降低了dba工作的难度。我的point不是否定
toad，而是说toad是个捷径，新手与其大力气扣命令脚本不如先好好研究这个. |

这个READING COMPREHENSION啊是太太太重要了.我们家小朋友现在这个比较吃亏.这个
都怪我们在她的小时读书比较少,即使有时候一起读了也没有读完REVIEW一下提一些问
题啥的.为什么说阅读理解不强就吃亏呢,这个可影响到其他科目的,比如数学,SOCIAL
STUDIES等等.她的学校数学部分的PROBLEM SOLVING占分很高,好多时候她做错了不是因
为不会做,给她解释完什么意思后她就会做了.美国的小学数学是比较简单,教法也跟我
们小时侯老师教的不同,我觉得我们没必要在家里给孩子补数学,孩子一开窍,一点不是
问题.隔三差五教点小TRICK啥的我不反感,可以提高兴趣;有时候跟同学SHARE一下也增
加自信心;)
我感觉美国的小学基本是教小孩养成学习的好习惯和方法以及兴趣,初中以后再拼一点
不晚.
目前ACADAMIC方面我唯一要推的就是英文了还有中文了.

这个hike有点太难了,好几人给仙人掌扎得哇哇叫.下次去个容易点的hike.
