dependent。问题是我刚刚才知道可以这么做（原来以为一年不够183天就不行），现在
还有一周报税截至日期就到了，而且他们现在人在国内。不过他们五月底又会过来。不
知道大家觉得下面这么做是否可行，或者有更好的办法？
我现在file form 4868 online, overpay the estimated 2013 TAX （calculated by
TaxCut, without considering their deduction）,然后等他们五月一到就开始申请
TIN，然后等TIN下来后再正式file我的TAX，要回来多交的那部分。

许是中餐的原因,感觉很一般,没有看到螃蟹腿,sushi品种不算多,noodle soup味道一般
,其它有特色的只有葱油饼,烤鸭和虾还算可以,水果很少,甜点也很少,dim sum也没什么
特别的,不过价格还可以,两个人21.9$,觉得住夏洛特附近的去去还可以,住RTP的就不用
专门开两个多小时去了,完全可以去sam's club附近的china buffet,那里的sushi,dim
sum,noodle soup一点都不比Tin tin差,但近多了. |

因为现在事情比较多，本来想等到H-1B下来再写，那时候心情也好一点，不像现在这么烦
躁。转念一想现在这么紧张大概是佛祖觉得俺光看不写很不地道，所以就好事多磨惩罚惩
罚俺。所以赶快写出来给大家分享一下，回报找工作这么长时间来在这个版上得到的帮助
和鼓励。同时给自己增加点功德，希望一切能顺利搞定。阿弥陀佛。
俺学的东西不是什么EE之类找工作不愁，随便上来一个年薪就8万9万往上那种。原来在国
内就是金属材料和冶金之类的东西，一直在学校待着。在美国先拿了一个金属方面的硕士
，这个方向年景一直不好，当时经济还算火热的时候也没找到工作，后来就只好又读了一
个机械的博士，都不是什么牛校。读书越读越是惊心，经济下滑，周围的人改行的改行。
机械系的除了搞有限元的一直都不差，别人还没见找到工作的。不少毕业了的人都跟 |

知道工作难找，眼瞅年纪也大了，不能不作打算，所以就从两三年前开始试着找找，积累
经验。俺的难度在于：第一，没有什么工作经验。在国内尽管留校在实验室里工作了几年
，但是不是industry人家不care。第二，所学的东西都是老大难专业。金属这玩意不用说
了，夕阳的不能再夕阳。传统制造业普遍不景气。底特律的汽车厂一个比一个差。流体和
传热说起来好一些，但是有上面说的问题存在，加上是半路出家，底子怎么也比不上人家
原装正版。第三，这个版上99%的人都有的身份问题。说老实话，如果不是因为这个，估
计大家都看着手里一把一把的offer发愁呢。
找工作首先炮制resume。因为俺杂七杂八的东西搞得太多，所以每个方向准备一篇。简化
不相干的经历和education，尽量突出在那个方面的特长。回头具体到某个工作 |

如果工作还没找到，又毕业在即怎么办？上边说了咱们说白了就是个身份问题在那卡着，
没了学校，没有工作，过一年身份就危险。没有收入，米国这个地方花钱厉害，除非有个
富得流油的老爸老妈，不然光看钱出不见钱进吓也吓死了。如果你是PhD，办法就是赶快
找个PostDoc先刨起来再说，边干活边找工作。（当然你就想在PostDoc上拿绿卡，将来作
faculty什么的不在此列，这个办法只适用于俺这种不思进取的。）找PostDoc除了跟找工
作一样要广撒网以外，要直接去骚扰教授，跟当初申请奖学金一样，大家想必经验丰富，
不用俺多说。理论上现在postdoc也不好找，但是毕竟还是比工作容易不少。俺折腾了两
个来月就有2.5个offer。尽管现在老板nice得不能再nice，但是工资就那么多，又不能刨

开始找工作就知道有多难。有一个公司，industry leader，搞的就是俺本行，一样的不
能再一样。到学校on campus了一把。回头给俺一个据信。俺大怒。要说别的不敢夸口，
这个老本行从不同角度搞了N年，不相信有人比俺强！于是分别给group leader和另一个
头头发讨伐的email，不指望让他们改变主意，至少给一个理由好不好，不要那个公式化
的“俺们找到更合适的，blah blah blah”。不问还好，越问越生气。两个人给了两个不
同的理由。靠！自己分析来分析去觉得还是身份问题在作怪。另一个比较有希望的公司on
campus以后说俺是over qualify，不过管事的说打算在别的部门给俺设一个职位。当时还
挺得意，看看俺还是香饽饽。后来email来往一通后告诉俺，公司上边没有批 |

这次得到offer的interview机会其实也是从学校里来的。这个公司要招人，HR就发了个em
ail到俺们学校。学校把email转给有关的学生们。这个职位跟俺的背景非常非常相近。立
刻好好修饰了一下resume，当天就发过去给HR。不放心，第二天早晨一个follow up的电
话，假装询问是不是收到了俺的resume，其实是想让对方在一陀一陀的简历中间能对俺有
个印象，不至于随便挑几个剩下的delete掉。HR manager的回答让俺有点惊喜，她居然记
得俺的名字，证明还是比较的impressive。不两天，HR manager就打电话来约了个时间电
话interview。有了以前的经验，先问了问她要有些什么内容，回答是就是一个初步phone
screen，就是HR和一个小头目，没什么技术 |

屈指一算，从一开始试着贴简历到现在也有两年了。这两年里真是酸甜苦辣什么都有。经
常到这个版上看大家的经验，也问过一些问题，得到了大家的帮助。在这个困难的时期，
每次看到有人找到工作，尤其是背景跟俺类似的，都觉得很振奋，在茫茫的黑暗中看到一
点点的亮光。虽然不知道能不能挺到那里，但是还是鼓起勇气一步一步朝前走，告诉自己
不能放弃。非常感谢俺的LP，几年来陪俺一起风风雨雨的走过，相濡以沫，相嘘以湿。曾
经在最绝望的时候她尽管自己心里惴惴不安，还是给俺鼓励支持，在俺急躁的时候安慰俺
，同时帮俺处理了很多自己不擅长的事情。俺又怎么不知道她的辛苦呢。希望这次佛祖保
佑能顺顺利利，这样她的辛苦也没有白费。
这就是俺找工作的大致经历，希望能回报这个版，如果大家能在其中找到些有用的东西，
