反智论与中国政治传统
——论儒、道、法三家政治思想的分野与汇流
一 引 言
中国的政治传统中一向弥漫着一层反智的气氛；我们如果用“自古已然，于今为烈
”这句成语来形容它，真是再恰当不过了。但是首先我们要说明什么叫做“反智”。
“反智论”是译自英文的anti-intellectualism，也可以译做“反智识主义”。“
反智论”并非一种学说、一套理论，而是一种态度；这种态度在文化的各方面都有痕迹
可寻，并不限于政治的领域。中国虽然没有“反智论”这个名词，但“反智”的现象则
一直是存在的。因为这个现象可以说普遍地存在于一切文化之中，中国自然不是例外。
研究这一现象的学者都感到不易给“反智论”下一个清晰的定义，不过一般地说，“反
智论”可以分为两个互相关涉的部分：一是对于“智性”(intellect)本身的憎恨和怀
疑，认为“智性”及由“智性”而来的知识学问对人生皆有害而无益。抱着这种态度的

佛教，原本打算信来的，至少如来佛在几百年前就能看出一碗水里有3000多个微生物，
这么严谨的科学论断是超越了时空的。后来被阿三们鄙视了一下，说佛法无边的如来佛
只是hindu教的一个边缘化的分支。

more we think about it, the stronger the energy is), either positive energy,
or negative energy.
Stronger resistance gives it more energy. Resistance is not purely something
that happens to victimize one, but it shows one in what areas s/he can
learn to release (or let go).

My belief is that such source is unlimited, but it's the container, one's
thought about his/her capacity, that is limited.

hell. Buddhists in fact believe whoever do not practise buddhism will
suffer. Both are kind of threatening. That is why I like Taoism. They
pursue the truth of the universe. They practise to be eternal. They are not
sure what they can achieve, but no threatenings.
