Is it ok to switch back and forth between regular and synthetic motor oil? I
heard this causes leaks? Is this true?
Switching between synthetic and conventional oil does not cause problems.
Because the oils are compatible, you can switch back and forth as often as
you like.
Can you mix different types of motor oil? For example, synthetic and
synthetic blend or regular and synthetic? Is this going to cause problems?

BMW's 5W-30 really means
- Castrol Syntec European Formula SAE 0W-30
- Mobil 1 SAE 0W-40
- Pennzoil Platinum European Formula Ultra SAE 5W-30
- Valvoline SynPower SAE 5W-30
That's why LZ was given 0W-40 |

发帖数: 1766 | 18 0W-20两田原厂的多半不好。他们应该用的买来的基质油，配上日本做出来的additive
package，这样搞出来的油VI很高，但其他性能都一般般；还有一个问题是additive有
可能寿命短一些，这个只是我的印象，没仔细看过，没意思去细查。
Castrol低温表现差点，高温更稠些，我看过好几个油都是这样的，可能跟德国车的设
计有点关系。Synpower和PU都不错，跟M1互有千秋，总体略差。M1 0W低温太好了，遥
遥领先。 |

都是7500换
的。但是如果斯巴鲁改成6000迈一换，我就看不到机油低的灯了。。你懂的。。以后我
得随车备一油壶了。。不过我操得比较狠，估计这是原因。我下次换油也打算试试
valvoline synpower,换个口味看还烧不烧 |

22.XX 5qt的valvoline SynPower，原价是25.XX这样。
搞了2大桶和2小瓶下次俩车换机油用。这个油在BITOG上评价不错，大家最近有要换油
的可以去买。
还看到quaker state的full syn油有买一大桶，去shell加油每加仑减50美分的活动，
QS本身是21.XX一大桶，个人对QS这个牌子无感，没有买，但是也应该是好油。 |

四大品牌：mobil 1，castrol edge，vavoline synpower，Pennzoil titanium都行，
不缺钱的话我强烈建议上redline或者amsoil，适合G37这种性能车。 开wrx的很多用。 |

even if you can't verify the number on mazda's oil, in place of mazda 5w-20,
same thing can be said with pennzoil conventional (228C) vs pennzoil
platinum (224) /valvoline synpower (221).
as for why mazda decided to not like synthetic (except its own synthe-
renesis), i honestly don't know, because mazda didn't give any reason aside
from "hard starting". i do he |

and expect to pay arm and leg for them. Surprisingly, Autozone got them on
special combo deal. Currently, amazon got 6qt Mobil1 for $48.99 which comes
out to $8.xx per qt. This is a good deal to stock up. Not sure if this
deal is the same online but shipping cost is prolly kills the deal.
Limit 2 oil changes per customer per day. Deal expired on 2/6/12
