不是有一个口是接百兆的话，所有的口都自动变成百兆还是会保持在giga上。俺的是那
个8口的greenet switch，反正拷文件速度不快。
这些所谓的绿色的，好像都是已牺牲performance做代价的
使用了TRENDnet Gigabit GREENnet switch，上下传只能到1MB，差不多相差10倍，为
什么啊？网线都用的是普通Cat5，电脑是百兆网卡，NAS是千兆网卡。

gigabit switch比wrt54g（百兆）慢多了。NAS本身的速度现在还不关心，肯定比百兆
网快。我用wrt54g作switch，能max百兆网速。 |

是的，这个就是普通的路由器设置
是的
1. 如果你的2nd router没有刷ddwrt，switch来的cable需要连接到LAN口，
然后关掉dhcp这时候你的router其实就是一个工作在Layer 2的交换机。没有
第三层的ip routing，但是加密，mac address filter这些对wireless的部分
还是可以继续工作。
2. 如果刷了ddwrt，可以接在WAN口，但是需要设置"Assign WAN Port to Switch"
3. 2nd router接上去之前先单独设置它的静态ip，比方说192.168.1.101，避免和main
router的ip地址冲突；subnet mask设置成与main一样；如果有gateway/local DNS可以
设置成main router的地址
4. 有很小的可能性需要用crossover的cable连接switch和router
他们之间都是用mac地址通信的，不需要设置直接可以互相访问 |

天给我装patch panel.
patch panel装在office 的closet中。 到时要连router, network switch, ooma telo
, cable modem. 他说把这些放在closet pole上面的现成的水平的木头架子上，我现在
想那么多放在那么高，偶尔操作起来也不方便，是不是最好买个rack?
请问家里ethernet联网的同学有没有买个rack放switch, router， cable modem, ooma
box, 有一层还可以是电源插头.

switch接router，router连DSL modem，这样千兆网走switch，无线网走wireless
router。我觉得高点无所谓，基本上是一次性设置，不会整天搞来稿去的。
ooma最好不要跟上述设备放一起，有时会有干扰。我把它放到远处的另一个etehrnet接
口上，无绳电话也不跟ooma放到一起（通过墙内的电话线放到另外一个房间），这样
ooma通话的效果最好。 |

router上连了一台PC a，（update：router上还有另一台PC，和a之间传输有100MB/s）
switch上连了两台PC，b和c
switch连到router上
b和c之间传输速率有100MB/s，但a和b或c之间只有10MB/s，这个问题出在哪里？ |

接物理并联接到一起，但是ethernet不行，要通过switch。所有的ip还是通过router来

看了这个，好象明白些。当router 和其它cleints都连到switch上后，实际上他们都成
为switch的cleints，switch会根据MAC address建立点对点连接，所以swtich没有入和
出的port区别。Client要连internet，直接和router talk，同时cleints自己也可以
talk。structure是个并联，就是router也和他们并联，原来糊涂是总把router放到上
一级。 |

一个IP，才具有可管理性。但如果要支持Spanning Tree的话，好几个port都往外发BPDU
，如果不是每个port有一个unique的MAC地址的话，其它Switch怎么能分辨呢？地址学习
好象也有问题。所以我的理解是只要是支持STP的Switch，每个port都需要unique的MAC地

Most functions return very few types of known errors.(one or two)
one is the best or two.
for an example, strconv.ParseInt
