闲着没事,搞了个二手 K&N Typhoon CAI.安装比较简单:
1. 卸掉bumper
2. 拆掉原来的air box, ducks, resonater
3. 把CAI联到原来的throttle 上,插上原来的管子,搞定.
开出去试了试,3500转下没感觉(其实好像反应更慢了),上了4000后发出低沉的声音,
6200转后vtect kick in,声音变的尖锐了.动力提升没什么感觉,厂家的dyno显示
6000rpm下可以提升5hp,其实这点提升没有也罢.不知道mpg会不会提高.
那天不喜欢了,改成short ram,据说可以提高low end response.
看来动力也就那样了,下一步把rear sway bar 换了.

今天终于把问题解决了。查了一下，我的车还有部分的warranty，5年／10万mile的那
种。我打电
话 给chevy的客服中心，他们给联系了一个当地的dealer。上周预约，昨天把车开去检
查维修，今
天取回。
结果：（1）front wheel bearing and hub replacement (free with warranty)
(2) replace front sway bar link (parts: $143, labor $102)
总共加税花了263美元。
简单google了一下，应该还是用warranty省了一些钱（几百刀？）。dealer的质量应该
是让人放
心的，就是会贵一些，一个智能手机没了，不过牵涉到transmission这样的安全问题，
也顾不了那
么多了。
这里还是要赞一下chevy的服务。chevy的客服接连打了两三个电话follow－up。当地的
dealer给
提供了接送两个ride，整个过程很顺利，还是很让我满意。
难怪都想买新车，有warranty就是好啊。 |

volvo dealer labor1$104/hr起，修发动机之类的要翻倍，这是我看朋友的bill来的。
有些时候想自己动手，但是活太大了
比如我说的那个sway bar bushing,就两个螺丝固定在sub frame上，可是你要是不把发
动机吊好，然后拆下subframe,你就是够不到那个螺丝。我专门爬到其他车下面去过，
passat也是这么设计的，但是我的neon就是倒过来固定的。螺丝触手可得，要换的话自
己动手就可以，而且没有发动机掉下来的危险 |

咱可不敢跟你比。来美十+年，开过的车N多，教过的徒弟有近20个吧。严格说来拥有的
只有一辆(除了最近买的另外一辆)--1989 的三菱。
不想争论日车欧车还是美车好，反正我这辆在我手上跑了10W有余，跑遍了整个美国的
东西南北，加拿大的东部1/4的地方。现在有近17W迈。ENGINE终于快不行了。卖掉的话
最多也就值$3-500。
看在多年的感情的份上，没打算JUNK掉，而是反其道而行之，对其全面大修，把它变成
古董车(我所在的州20年以上的就可以申请ANTIQUE车牌)。
几项大的项目远远超出车的价值了：
1) 换NEW REBUILT ENGINE： ENGINE+LABOR： > $1500 (这活自己干不了)
2) 更换空调系统： >$1300
3) 换SUSPENSION SYSTEM： front strut, rear shock, sway bar link, lower ball
joint, etc. > $600
3) 还有不少完全自己干的活，如换新轮胎，change brake pads, flush transmission
