刚申请的时候让交个RESEARCH OUTLINE, 写一下想做PROJECT, 估计就是看看RESEARCH
INTEREST. 然后COORDINATOR就发给各个老师看, 看有没有人有兴趣当SUPERVISOR. 然
后跟SUPERVISOR讨论一下, REVISE一下, 作为APPLICATION中的一部分. 就这样定下了
SUPERVISOR, 有写在ADMISSION上, SUPERVISOR的名字...
当是问COORDINATOR这个PROJECT是否就是定下以后的DISSERTATION, 他说不是, 以后可
以改, PROGRAM上面也写的是大概在第一年末定下.
关于是否能换SUPERVISOR, 我看到老师自己的页面都有提到如果要想找他们, 可以去跟
他们谈, 有的也有提到成绩要TOP5%. 所以我就想, 是否在第一年去了以后在做
DISSERTATION PROPOSAL之前可以SUPERVISOR吗?
不知道这次有没有说清楚... |

我没有太多经验，按说要去应该是我的supervisor, 他来的时间比我早，懂得比我多。
还有一个和我

发帖数: 19262 | 7 工作一年了，似乎还挺习惯成习惯的，因为我是逆来顺受的性格，哈！
刚开始特别不习惯老板的做事风格，很急很急的那种，他忙的时候你很难插话，可是往
往project有些东西必须他的指示才能进行啊。他的特点就是急+工作狂，天下是不是所
有的supervisor都是工作狂呢？
第一次急，我吓坏了，心理还觉得委屈，委屈啥？俺长这么大还没遇到过这样的老板，
我实在太幸运了，遇到的都是有大风度的老师，最有风度的莫过于我的博士导师，他是
我最敬佩的学者，有大家风范（我是指工作中）。当然，不能把supervisor跟advisor
相提并论，我明白。
后来，他常常急，跟一般美国人的做事态度有点不一样，我是毛毛虫，我是group里资
历最浅，虽然不是年龄最小的。我忍，也学会习惯，慢慢的我没有觉得啥自尊受伤害啦
，脸皮也变厚了一些。
就是这样的supervisor，偶尔stop by的时候问，你父母怎么样啊，你女儿上preschool
了吗？房子买了吗？move了吗？
啊，我的小心窝啊，还 真暖和了不少。其实，大家都是肉长的，总不能一直冷若冰霜

刚开始在一公司正式上班，之前同一公司同一部门同一Supervisor手下实习了大半年。
公司白人居多，很少外国雇员。Supervisor在我实习之前刚升的。他也不是美国人，欧
洲人。本来一直觉得Supervisor人不错，毕竟大家大背景相同。但是最近有件事感觉很
是不爽。我们这个职位要考级，公司支持员工考级，给员工一定的学习时间，并且支付
参考资料费，考试费以及靠过后工资上调等。内部有相关的文件介绍，但是没放在公司
网上。本来我也可以向其他人要，为了表示对他尊重，先问了他。结果他说，没有这种
资料，然后简单地口述了一些信息。问过级后怎么要求加工资，结果他支支吾吾，要我
把过级的成绩单复印一份给他。刚好我刚过了一级（成绩出来时我已经是公司的正式员
工了），我就复印了给他。结果他说，他还不能肯定能不能加工资。结果过去几天了，
他提都没提这事。
于是，我今天就向其他美国同事要这个文件，美国同事很爽快就给了 |

实是我的很重要的工作经验。律师现在要申请PERM,把这几个经历写进去以支持我满足
广告。问题是当时我的supervisor 是一个大学的老师，他已经几年前已经离开学校了
。我不知道是和这个老师联系对呢还是把supervisor 写成我的导师？我的导师不是我
的实习supervisor，但是当时我是在读博士期间读的小学教育这个学位，所以他是很了
解我的这个学位的，都是一个系，也经过了他的批准才可以读的。他现在也给我写了支
持信，说明对我的工作的经历的了解。（系里做助教，还有在小学的实习）。

事情是这样的,一个学生老早之前跟我说想 counseling的时候去外面走走,学校让他觉
得很压抑.我说我不确定可不可以这么做,要问问我的supervisor. 然后呢supervisor就
说,可以啊,还给我找了张表格,需要学生家长签一下证明家长同意孩子在表上的时间,表
上的地点走走.好吧,我就把表格多复印了几分,给了这个学生一份.这个学生把表丢了,
还好我还有备用,又给了他一份.随后的那个周一是马丁路德金日,学校放假,表也没用上
.又给了他一份填好新的日期,可是随后的那个周日又下雨了.就一直拖到了今天,又让他

QCOM给申请Export license control的人回复说license已通过，在等HR确定我的

跟supervisor说，我现在也说不好自己的目标，暂时两个方向吧：
1．发展成为某一技术领域expert
2．做公司Asian water marketing
至于犹豫于两个方向的原因，是我还没想好，到底掌握一个特殊的技术更重要，还是把
技术推广出去更重要。不过我的最终目的，是想为Asian,尤其中国的环境做些事情。。。

思说出来加工资，主要是也没想到换了以后自己能完全顶替一个很senior的developer
，还顺便cover了一个product manager的不少工作。所以现在感觉憋屈了。
我们子公司不大，一个中国老板基本全说了算，我换组也是他拍板然后告诉我的。直接
的supervisor不大管事，问他被他堵回去就郁闷了。
另外就是时机了，我这种情况也得等annual review的日子么。不过感觉annual涨工资
都有相对固定比例的，俺胃口稍大。 |

后来就吵起来了,我无意中说了,根据一开始的提示,电话是录音的,以后都有证据,而且我这里也可能在录音,他就说如果你继续录音,我就要挂电话了....
后来我就说这难道不是违法的么,你能录音,为什么我就不能录音呢,而且你这是在威胁customer吧.....
后来还好,他说帮我把点数改回来,然后叫我等点数回来后,我再打电话让他们重新
redeem,下一个不会犯错误了
请问一下各位牛人
这个我做的没错吧,还是我不该录音,以后他们会起诉我呢

candidature, 理论上是可以换， 但是要是真的换了， 很掉面子， 你还要跟你的旧老
板天天见面， 不是一般的尴尬，而且那等于phd 重新读 你前一年等于完全浪费了 我
没听说有人这样做。 这样做很没rp, 受人鄙视。
而且coordinator 的意思是说， 你以后的dissertation不见得是现在的这个project,
你是可以换project, 但是要是同一个supervisor的不同project. 并不见得你换了
project 就一定换了supervisor. |
